This is actually a pretty clever take on the match-3 genre! I've been playing it off and on, and it's really addicting - I've been slowly learning how to turn unsafe rolls into guaranteed matches by using my shields wisely. Of course, there's still some luck involved, and you can lose a 3/4 good roll four times in a row... but that's just the risk you run, right?

I definitely like this game. It's a logic puzzle in murder mystery trappings, and stuff like this is right up my alley! I have trouble making all the connections in a 6-suspect case, but that 'aha' moment is well worth it.

And then the Katana run - or, as I like to call it, the "lawnmower run" thanks to max cooldown and area, plus a few sawblades. Overall, a great little game for some quick fun.

Pistol run complete; I'm starting to get the hang of this. Katana run is going to be the real challenge, though.

I ended up becoming a literal death machine with max shuriken, cooldown and attack levels. I even had near max shotgun and sawblade levels for good measure. I carved a path to the chopper with machine-gun shuriken shots, so that was fun.

Scraping against the ocean floor? I like it. Maybe you could also have mines strewn about the ocean that cause damage if the submarine passes through their square. There's a lot of room to expand on the ideas you started off with, and I'm curious to see where this goes!

It could be interesting if there's an 'emergency anchor' rule - like if the anchor command is used at or near the surface, it costs you one health. Of course, you could just not use refill, but then you run the risk of running out of oxygen before rolling a 3.

I think the game eventually got tired of me absolutely overpowering it and said "OK, let's crank the enemy speed and spawn rate up continuously until you die."

Still, an excellent game that can provide some really interesting moments at times - at the end, I was playing cards no matter what they were just so Healing Hand could keep me alive for a few more seconds.

I ended up having an absolutely cracked Loot run today that actually got me my first win in the mode (sure, it was on Easy, but still). My selection of blessing/curse 'purchases' this run was exquisite, and a few lucky items (Glass Blade + Silk Cape and Twisted Bar + Two Reeds come to mind, as well as Infinity for Hexia) got me through the entire run with only a couple of deaths (including a mage sacrifice to OHKO Hexia with Infinity). Even got an achievement for beating level 20 in a single turn!

The golden knife gives you more dice to work with per round!

This is a really innovative twist on the ol' dungeon crawler! I managed to beat the current build using a ranged/ranged/melee/dash/move/dash loadout, although outmaneuvering the enemy archers was tricky! Glad to see you managed to get a Top Marks award; well-deserved.

Virtually all of the assets used by this game seem familiar.

Maybe a little too familiar.

Heard of a game called Cave Story, by chance? One of the great indie classics? Originally freeware, but got a few commercial releases later on down the line?

Don't get me wrong, the game's not too terrible, but... well, let's be honest here, you could make your own custom sprites and music and it would still be a decent game. Right?
