The comment section is also kind of a review section, negative comments matter too lol

dm69 was kinda harsh, and didn't give us any sense of why he felt it was a waste of potential (all ears for this, btw if dm can help me decide whether or not to download), but it's not like complaining is against the rules

Your comment was a little out of pocket tho, which is where the dislikes are coming from. fwiw. I'd be surprised if a bunch of alts were involved

Asking the real questions

Look at this guy over here casually blessing us with 4k. May your code always compile and your renders run liquid fast.

I feel like the first act answers this question emphatically. Yes, Sam has a harem, and yes, we're invited

AugustEsoterica, this is so great! Excellent balance of tension and comedy, I'm on the edge of my seat. I feel like you're answering the question of what to play after Caribdis.

I'm excited to see where things go, and I hope you get the funding and time to work on this passion project. You should open up a SubscribeStar, capture the people who don't use Patreon.

Take care out there, and stay awesome!

Once in a Lifetime and Eternum from Caribdis. This is definitely somewhat inspired by Cari's work. Also, Fates Collide and Twisted Fates which I'm pretty sure are also inspired by Cari. The tone, content, and atmosphere are similar. If you like Unraveling August, you'll probably adore everything Cari does. I'd recommend starting with Once in a Lifetime if you haven't already devoured what's out for Eternum.

The Arson Betrayal and Shale Hill Secrets are different, with Arson having more film noire elements and Shale having a more oppressive atmosphere. If you've ever seen the movie Brick, Shale has a little bit of that vibe. Shale HIll's production and story telling are really, really tight.

Evermore is also worth it, and has some overlap, but it starts a little bit awkward. PrometheusEVN (the creator) is still finding their voice but the story and composition are picking up nicely.

If I'm not wrong, August is also partially influenced by Harem Hotel, which is good, but a very different vibe.

Honorable mention would be Tales from the Unending Void for a sci-fi with a similar balance of tension, but more of an "on the run" feeling and nowhere near as much comedy. It also more seriously explores tension around familial relationships.

Happy gaming!

Peep is a real one. MIST was a work of art; quality takes time. I hear you tho, UWU. It's hard to be patient for  a 395. Keep those donos up so our dude has capital to work that magic.

No cap, both are worth playing. I might go Grip of Ice first, but they're both great.

Caribdis, my mans, never stop making stories. You have a genuine talent! Just caught up to 0.5 and I can't wait for what comes next. Absolutely wild foreshadowing. This that boutique shiz.

Stabby Mike is a legend!

The Chang reference! After a solid hour of thinking to myself that MC looks kinda Change-y lmao top tier

Making huge strides after the Inferno game. Protagonist suffers a little bit from power fantasy ego, but animation is great, scene setup tells an interesting story, and the effort really shows; there's a lot of talent on display here! Can't wait for the next release
