Hey there,

The one used in this piece are part of my current collection ‘‘At Sea‘‘.
At first, I created a collage of different pictures as a base/rough and then I redrew over them.

Yeah definitely ! For the old explorer’s design I went and did a mix of Carl from UP, an older Indiana Jones, ’the great explorers aesthetic’ and some old familly pictures (especially for the mustache design and wrinkles).

Glad you enjoyed the hands, I had to remove some tiles that defined more clearly their shape to fit into the 192 tile limit.

I’ll be honest : there is no story behind this one. 

I really wanted to depict a high point that would happen in one of the classic adventure movies from my chilhood ; the main character finally gets his hands on the ’thing’ he was looking for, but, there’s a reason why it’s still where he found it ...
