A few questions:

1. I have no idea how to really play because the tutorial option is grayed out, so I'm not exactly sure how to even progress. Am I missing something?

2. The game feels very "skippy" to the point where the game freezes for a few seconds every 8-10  seconds or so. Changing settings hasn't seemed to help with this. Any suggestions?

3. When the game comes to Steam, will I be able to get it for free with some sort of key since I already purchased it here?

This is also a brand-new desktop. It's all set up though and I have been playing other games and programming on it just fine. I also completely disabled UAC briefly with the command line (as well as manually a second time using the Registry Editor) to be sure it wasn't my computer blocking/stopping something, but no luck. Also, I know it requires a restart when disabling UAC and I did that both times. Not sure what else to do. I hope you guys can help.

I extract all and then run the .exe if that's what you mean. I was looking for install directions just in case I did something stupid, but I can't find any from you guys. It's probably just me doing something wrong tbh. I'm trying a few other things and I'll update this reply if I'm still having issues.

If there are instructions, could you point me to them? Otherwise, I might need to have you walk me through every step since I honestly don't know what else to try...   :/

No idea what I'm doing wrong here. Every time I try to start the application, I get this message:

I also have the latest version of Unreal installed, so I don't know what to do...

I hope I'm just being stupid and there's a simple fix.

So, I've played on mac and windows before for this game, but the newest version doesn't work on mac and I'm not sure why. I've tried checking permissions and making sure my mac will let me open from unidentified devs (which I'm very used to since I download lots of unidentified stuff), but it doesn't even seem to want to try to open it at all. Here is a pic:

Game doesn't even start anymore. All I get is a main menu screen with a boat in it (although, there are no menu items, just a still background image). It immediately says not responding and then has a LowLevelFatalError. Before it at least ran for about 30sec before crashing. Not playable in its current condition. ;/

Somehow game is worse than before after the last update. Do you guys have support in your discord?

I thought of a few other questions:

It says to smash all the red lights to unlock a scene, but I've done this about 20 times and still nothing. Do you have to also win the night or are there just some very hidden ones I don't see? Or maybe even smashing the lights in the menus (which I also did, but still nothing).

For unlocking the scene with the funny number of nights, is that going to be night 69? 

Last thing, what constitutes a very successful night for the nightclub to unlock that scene?

Wanted to mention a possible issue. So, I pick up a bunch of VHS tapes, but after completing the night, I only unlock 1 scene???

My guess it will only unlock either the first or last tape picked up for that night, but the issue is, I have no idea which tape I've unlocked (you can't read them when clicking them while playing the actual game is what I mean). 

Also, it still sometimes seems like you don't unlock a new video even when collecting tapes. I don't know if this is because I have already unlocked that particular tape OR if you can only unlock a tape if you win the night OR something else. 

I'd just really like it clarified because now I don't know which tapes to click on since I don't know which ones are which, especially since every tape comes back every single night regardless if you clicked on them many nights before.

Again, just asking for a bit of clarity on how the tapes work. It would also help if the tapes went away in game once that particular scene unlocks.

On a different note, I love how the game is coming along! The only real issue I've ran into is the one I mentioned above.

I got this game a month or so ago but had to request for a refund because the performance was... well... terrible. The game looks amazing, but if you can't play it because of optimization issues with no real way of changing the game settings, it becomes pretty much useless. I was getting max 20-30 FPS making it basically unplayable.

 However, it looks like we can NOW change the settings to possibly help performance and some other things changed since I've last played, so I'll buy it again and give it another go. I'll update the post later to explain how it went.

UPDATE:

Ok... things aren't looking good. Game crashes with a LowLevelFatalError many times I tried playing, and I have to close it via task manager. Not sure why. I don't see any actual menus and I can't change my settings. Somehow, FPS is even worse than before I'd say at 5 or less. 

I've played games far more demanding, so I don't get it. I guess I'll have to wait for many future optimizations to EVEN PLAY THE GAME. If devs see this, how do I access settings??? I want to see if changing the games video settings will help at all, but I don't know how to get to that. 

Damn... kinda disappointed. Like 10min of new content after such a loooong wait. :(

HELP FOR MAC USERS: Had a lot of issues figuring this out. I don't play a lot on Mac. Apparently, you gatta right click on the NekoParadise.app (but it's called just "NekoParadise"). Then, press "Show Package Contents" in the drop down menu.  After doing this, you can now see the contents folder. I've NEVER had to do this for any other game from itchio before so that's why I was confused. Usually you just double left click the app and it runs. It seems stupidly obvious to me now, but I swear I looked through EVERY file looking for something called "NekoParadise.app" for like 30min because I thought maybe it wasn't the same thing as the actual app... I don't know.  This is just here so you don't pull a huge brain fart like I did :/

So, game is NOT abandoned huh? Really seemed like it after all these years. I guess I'm willing to try it again. Already got refunded once because the game had like NO content.

Is there any new content with Lily in next update 0.13?

Mac version won't open. This is likely due to the game not being compatible with the current iOS version. Not sure how hard it is to get it working for Mac users, but I hope to see it if possible.

How do you keep your progress across versions? Also, the error is fixed!

It was just released like just now? I didn't see a 4.3 version a second ago, but it says it was uploaded 8 days ago. This will fix it for sure? Also, it say 4.13 TEST is that a typo?

So I got refunded since the 258 error made it so I could not play. However, I am definitely willing to buy this game and try again as new versions and fixes come out. If I find I still have issues though I may stop trying eventually.

Are my old saves compatible with new versions? This game takes a LOOONG time to progress or at least I don't know how to quickly. It's a bit frustrating, so I hope I won't ave to do it all over again.

Great game! Just bought it yesterday. However, I already seem to have gone through all the content. Quick questions:

How many animations are there to unlock in total?

One character has no animations unlocked at all. I'm guessing this character isn't in the game yet. Is this correct?

Also, is the game endless? I think I'm on like night 20.

So I got the newest version and I no longer have any save data. Where would the save data be located?

UPDATE: I've tried everything. I'm glad that this game is getting so much attention and support. The dev deserves it very much. It does suck that I still can't download it after 80+ days though :pepecry:

Comments like this don't help people solve problems. I'm glad Nopy is working for you, but it's clear that Nopy isn't working for me. I need another way to get the game at this time. 

I tried gettting the new version when it released (v0.13), but it was taking super long to download. I waited a while and now it's 79 days after release and the same thing happens. Nopy says it will take 6 hours to download a 7.3 GB file... Nopy is the issue for sure since I've been downloading all sorts of other stuff off the internet as big as 100GB within an hour or so. Even if I do wait the 6 hours, it fails every time. Please, let me know if there is a way to get it without using Nopy. Thank you!

Saw that 0.11 update is out, but only for patrons. Just wondering when we will be able to get the newest build here?
