1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?
Hi ! I am lekkel, currently a French maths student.
2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?
Nope. But I recently got a new surge of motivation to make games, so here I am !
3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?
Just to name a few, there's Undertale, Oneshot, Celeste, Her story, Hollow Knight, World of Goo. I think that the common denominator between those is that they surprised me either by their mechanics, or their executions, or the feelings and atmosphere they conveyed. Yet the one that really made me want to create things of my own was Persist, a jam game !
I also have a weakness for rhythm games (Rhythm heaven, osu, deemo, lanota, ddr...)
4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?
Not much. I took part in Ludum Dare 42 two years ago with some friends of mine, basically learning everything on the go (graphics, sounds, how to use a game engine and in that case, Gamemaker Studio 2). We ended up creating a small game called Rambot, but since then I haven't dwellt all that much into the depths of game making again.
5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!
Thinking. About stuff. Coming up with interesting ideas. Reading and writing too.
6. What are your goals for this game jam?
This time, I'd like to manage my time between studies, hobbies, a healthy life and game making. It is going to be hard, which is why I don't aim very high (or at least I think so). I'd like to create a single mini game that could have belonged in the rhythm heaven/paradise franchise. The mechanics don't seem that complicated, but most of my time will be dedicated to polish and graphics (I still don't know how to draw, and I'd like to really nail it). I would also like to learn Godot, which I am not well acquainted with yet.
