I agree with weenorguy's comment. Even though it is sad to hear what happened to your son (and I understand, because I have a brother with a specific game situation as well), you need to understand it's unfair to blame the developer for whatever happens with your kid after they spend months making this game. There is a warning at the top of the page as well. Itch is also the wrong website to search for kid friendly/predictable games, I would invest on a Nintendo Switch instead. There are many, many games just like this one that your son could've stumbled upon, and it just happened to be Bonnie's Baker (actually, it's become increasingly popular horror twists within the indie game community nowadays). I feel like horror games are just going to become so censored in the future because of parental issues :/

I recommend playing pixel dungeon if you haven't. That's where a lot of games get their inspiration from. Caves is also a masterpiece.
