Thanks to everybody for your interest in joining the Tiny Library CCG.

The community votes have been used to determine which cards are included in the project. If you haven't received an email from ash@long-tail.games (or a message from me on your entry) then unfortunately your contribution has not been selected. But I want to thank everybody for joining the experiment, and I hope it was an interesting and creative experience.

There are plenty more jams to come so please stick around :)

Hello! Please agree to the terms at this link if you would like to be included in the Tiny Library CCG: https://forms.gle/4qiYY53bJ5ELfGJq7

Are you able to make a community copy available for me?

Sorry about the previous response. I didn't pay enough attention and answered incorrectly.

The current phrasing does indeed refer to the licensee's ability to file for additional rights, rather than the creator's. This doesn't seem appropriate for the project (although it should be clear that Long Tail Games won't be applying for a trademark or patent based on these designs). This contract is based on a template provided by the Arts Law Centre of Australia, which means some sections needed to be modified, and obviously this one fell through the cracks.

I will update the contract to remove this sentence. Although, for anyone who has agreed earlier, I'd like to reiterate that Long Tail Games has no interest in filing any kind of trademarks ever - certainly not for a single card.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention! The intent of the agreement is that the creator grants Long Tail Games a non-exclusive right to print this card, leaving the original creator free to distribute, publish or otherwise monetize the design in any way they want. I want to keep improving the standard agreement over time, so it can align better with that goal.

Good question!

7.1 refers to any specific rights the creator may want to lodge in their region, without denying their inherent copyright over the works. For example, a creator could choose to appy for a trademark or even a patent. These are distinct from copyright and typically require lodging and approval somewhere (whereas copyright is considered automatic).

I hope that helps to clarify those points.

There's just a few days left to submit your work for this jam!

Thanks! I wanted to leave a couple of angles open for what is 'really' happening here.

The 'Submission Name' field should be the name of the item you're entering into the jam, not your username.

Thanks!

The card can and will be two-sided. I would encourage creators to consider the second side of the card, otherwise it will just be blank.

D'oh! Sorry about that - I had a setting wrong in the jam.

You can now vote by clicking on this link on the jam page:

Folks it's the last week to submit something for the Tiny Library CCG Jam #1!

Oh that is so annoying! Very sorry about that - the file has been updated. I think this happened when I last updated the credits pages...

Hello! Are you able to send me an email: ash@long-tail.games

This is the perfect structure for a new project I'm working on. Can we talk collaboration?

Eww. Okay updated! Now it looks like a cool 90s album :)

Hmm. It's just from a standard Canva logo template. So I believe it's just cheap, rather than AI.

Thanks for checking this out! I really appreciate it :)

Things are moving fast at Long Tail HQ!

I've been in touch with all the contributors selected for the final box... but choosing them was an incredibly difficult process.

If you contribution didn't make it this time, I just want to highlight that I'm just some guy, and you shouldn't take my opinions too seriously! Hopefully getting involved with this strange little project has been interesting and fun on its own terms, and I want to invite everybody back to future jams as they come along.

Now: the crowdfunding campaign to bring Tiny Library: Modern Fantasy into the world is about to begin. There's a month or so left to collect more videos and pictures, but you can see the campaign preview right now at:

https://gamefound.com/en/projects/long-tail-games/tiny-library-modern-fantasy

If you know people who might be into this sort of thing... please let them know about it!

Are you able to complete the Google Forms survey on the Tiny Library: Modern Fantasy jam page? I don't believe I have this for your entry

Are you able to send an email to ash@long-tail.games ? I would like to include this in Tiny Library: Modern Fantasy :)

I think there might be the potential for an entire jam in this concept.

Good question! You can definitely submit multiple cards in a single set. However my goal is to select 1 card from each creator (to maximize the number of different creators included) so most likely only 1 from the set could go to print.

On the template the safe zone is anything inside the blue dotted line. Anything outside that is not in the safe zone and could theoretically be cut by a stray card slicer.

Not sure on the exact  dimensions but you can download the template and use it as an overlay.

There is a preview link for the campaign at:
https://gamefound.com/projects/long-tail-games/tiny-library-modern-fantasy

Good question. Definitely use both sides!

I am currently working on the vibe for the campaign videos.

Folks there are only a couple of weeks left!

We don't have a huge number of submissions at the moment so please keep 'em coming. It's possible we will go ahead with multiple submissions from some creators. It's not my preference because I want to get as many folks involved as possible, so this is a call to get involved if you're still on the fence.

Please get in touch if you have any questions and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

So sorry for the slow response! On the template you should have 2.25" to the red border. Your file should actually be a bit larger than 2.25" because it includes the bleed (grey zone). Hope this helps!

I'd also recommend GraphicRiver for this. Depending on the program you use, there are different templates for making these kind of hero shots (also works for zines, etc): https://graphicriver.net/item/business-cards/7342819

That's fine! BY isn't a problem but SA and NC would be incompatible with the project.

Let me know if that's not clear and I can explain more.

MOSAIC is a really fascinating design space that seems to work well with the deck-of-cards format. I'd love to follow along with the librarians' game jam when it happens!

Thanks so much for the positive feedback! But this project is nothing without the contributors, so I also want to thank the community for getting behind the Tiny series :)

Good question! I'd suggest not worrying too much about the bleed requirements being perfect, as there will be an opportunity to change and update your design if it's selected to go into print.

Having said that...  I recommend using The Gamecrafter as a way to learn more about print requirements and to check your specific layout is okay. You'll need to create a free account, start a new project, and upload the file as a single bridge card. The Gamecrafter will then give you a preview image showing how the card looks with the bleed overlay, etc.

There is a small learning curve but I think it's worth it because you can use The Gamecrafter to experiment with a lot of different print formats and objects. I hope that helps!

Yup anything I can print is okay. I will get in touch later in the process (to ask for a modified version) if there are any serious technical issues.

Good question! Depending on your region, you can buy or pledge for a physical copy at Cardboard Monster:
