Soo. it's been awhile.  I'm curious as to what new developments are in store for the game.

Okay, human-scale.

If I may offer a suggestion: maybe the characters should be able to get increasingly super results by working in combination? "None of us is as strong as all of us", and all that?  Just an idea.

And I fist found this on Drive-thru RPG. I had no way of contacting you directly, so I was quite happy to see you here on Itch.io. I like what I see so far regarding the abilities the PCs can unlock. The whole project so far has a very specific atmosphere to it. It reminds me of Arc Dream's Godlike, except updated for climate catastrophe.

I meant that what kind of authoritarian hellscape you present to the PCs dictates what characters you're likely to get. Is it a Clockwork Orange failed state, where the authorities are depending on panicking citizenry to cling to routine in order to prop up the government, while it becomes ever more self-serving? Is it a 1984 panopticon? Is it Brave New World, where the corporations are in control, and they entertain the masses with one hand while crushing counter-revolutions with the other?

Here's a thought: Before character creation, have the players come up with the dystopia-in-progress, so they have an idea on what the typical character is likely to go through in a day. Also, if they're more interested in doing the harder lands, have them plot out how the environment has made the landscape a challenge.

I'm just saying, the background for characters right now is incredibly fuzzy. Yes, things are bad, but how bad and in what way are kinda vague at the moment. that's why I was looking for more of a starting scenario.

Okay, downloaded your QuickStart but I gotta ask: What do the players do? Where's the scenario to get them going? How are people supposed to flesh out the background enough to make characters? Are you going to add premade characters at some point?

Don't get me wrong; I like what I see so far. Out of curiosity: How powerful do you see these characters getting? Action movie heroes? Low-level supers? High level supers?

(1 edit)

With Attributes over 12 then, are they treated as 12 for purposes of rolling?  Does it work the same way for Assets?

Doing some re-reading and I'm not quite sure what the following means:

"Scale Dice add to Effect Rolls, but not to Attempt or Contest rolls."  Do they add to Assets?

New query: are you planning to release the Cutthroat codex as its own supplement, maybe with more stuff anytime soon?

Thank YOU, because I still have some  questions.

Do you have a discord or someplace to talk about Cosmic Cutthroats? Particularly about character/power design and mechanics?

Yes, it's quite useful and inspiring. Thank you!

Just curious--would you try to do a version of this game with something like the Invulnerable RPG engine?

Is Dauntless still valuable as  a supplement?

Yay! Looking forward to it!

I've got this game, and I'm looking forward to whatever progress you may make on it. I have some loose ideas about how to use it for superheroes, archmages, and so on, but I'd like to see what a "pure" cultivation (inspired by the actual real-world sources) would look like. (Also, dare I ask, what the hell is a corpse-puppet and how does one help you ascend to a higher Realm?)
