Could also be part of the sailor route when Sarah chooses to stay back on the ship. Then this new deckhand shows up. If she chooses to stay faithful to the captain, then, might get an ending like this. Again, I don't remember perfectly.

I think any animation added to this type of artsyle won't work well. There are lot of games out there that have added animation into 2GCG gameplay. It just looks terrible. Even if it is added in the future it can be made 'optional'.
