Thank you very much for your feedback! I have some updates ready to share once the Jam concludes. My aim is to refine the game's pacing and challenge, enhancing exploration and improving the rewards. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it! After the Jam, I'll be posting some adjustments to fine-tune the challenge and pacing of the game.

I challenged myself to fit as many rules as possible onto a business card, and it was a lot of fun, haha! I'm really thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the game. I have some updates ready to post after the Jam, incorporating the feedback I've received.

Back in high school, my friends and I always carried our TTRPG character sheets in our wallets, allowing us to play anytime during class breaks, haha. The concept behind Devil Must Die! was to create a TTRPG that fits in your wallet and can be played at any moment, whether solo or in a group. Thank you very much for your feedback!

I have to admit that rolling poorly is one of my biggest fears during a horror game, haha. I’ve prepared some changes that I plan to post once the Jam is over, and I believe they will enhance certain aspects of the game. Thank you so much for your feedback!

The concept was to create something simple and quick, inspired by the city where I grew up. I believe that too many rules can hinder a horror game; it should only have what’s necessary to intuitively support the setting. I watched your video and understand how challenging it can be to play this during a livestream, haha. Nonetheless, I truly appreciated your comment and feedback!

Glad you liked it! It’s more of a TTRPG than a typical board game, but I’m working on some rules for solo play or playing without a game master.

I'm glad you liked it! I believe this RPG still has room for improvement. I'm reviewing some rules, like finding exits in rooms and increasing loot with each floor.
I watched your stream, and I think you forgot to apply your defense modifier before taking damage from the monster, that's why you died so fast. I’m gonna tweak it to make that calculation clearer.
I get that the chance of rolling 666 is super low, but the joke with the number of the beast makes me smile hahaha

Great questions! Originally, the answer to all of them would have been YES, but I think the best answer is, 'If you think it’s fun.' The idea behind Devil Must Die! was to keep things minimalist, without needing a map or anything like that. Honestly, I wasn’t super happy with how the part about finding the stairs and new rooms turned out. I’m testing a few ways to make that better, as well as improving the loot on each floor.
I’m open to any suggestions :)

I’m a big fan of minimalist RPGs, and the character creation system really grabbed me. It’s super simple and easy to use. The combat’s also really cool, with the weak and strong traits making each monster stand out. Can’t wait to playtest it soon!

Thanks a lot for the review! The Rot mechanic has been making playtests pretty intense—the group gets on edge with every roll and minute of gameplay hahaha

Thanks a lot for the comment! This game is pretty personal to me since it reflects a tough part of my childhood. I’m really into minimalist mechanics, just enough to build the atmosphere without getting in the way of the roleplay.

Cthulhu was definitely one of my inspirations, along with Silent Hill. Glad you liked it!

Did you try with the knight? His defense helps you survive in the early levels.

I totally get the feeling, it's been giving me a lot of trouble too hahahaha

Thank you very much for the comment! I'm looking for a way to adjust the treasure per floor and making some small tweaks, but I'm glad you liked it!

I'm really glad you liked it! I admit I've also been working hard to destroy the forces of evil, but the Devil Must Die!

Every time you take damage from a monster, your defense is subtracted from the total damage to determine how many hearts you lose. Yes, the Knight will breeze through the first floor without any problems, unless they encounter a Boss. Think of the Knight as that character in full armor with a shield—a tank, the initial easy mode.

Incredible work! The vibe truly resonated with me—I'll be testing it with my group this weekend.

I'm blown away by the document's design—I absolutely love the style! The tables create truly fascinating combinations, and I can't wait to use them!

I think the current patch has balanced things out a bit hahaha

YES! You can count on my registration!

I think you're right. I made some changes to the current file: Updated the final boss information to clarify when the Devil appears. Added two items: a +3 Damage Scroll and a +3 Defense Scroll, both for single use. Removed gold from the item table and introduced gold rewards for defeating all enemies in a room.

Maybe in a 2.0 version? "Devil (still) has to die!", haha. This was my first attempt at a business card format; my concern was that the material would still be visible despite its small size. But it's open source, so I’d be really happy to see new versions or interpretations :)

Thanks a lot! I’ve got a pretty new account : https://bsky.app/profile/lucastc.bsky

I grew up in the '90s, and my mind was blown the first time I encountered Diablo. For this TTRPG, I set out to create something that could fit on a business card, while still allowing for both traditional group play and solo play without a GM. Despite getting my butt kicked repeatedly by some undead, I’m really proud of what I've accomplished :)

Thank you very much for your comment and review! Hot Spies & Cold War is my first hack of Laser & Feelings, and I did my best to capture the Mission Impossible vibe in the game.
