im not sure if this is the exact same issue or if it could be related, but i’ve noticed on some fonts i have now get a similar error and i can no longer export TTF/OTF

what they have in common is that they don’t have “ “ (space)

(reason they dont have spaces is that they’re “components”, glyphs later to be merged into a larger singular font, rather than being proper fonts)

i can easily workaround this by just appending a space though

i can see the error being thrown in Vivaldi’s and Firefox’s console (when i append then remove the space), though i don’t really know what’s going on 😅

i haven’t used this in a while, but good to know you’re still working on this! :D

i wanted to add some fullwidth characters with a set width of 6px to my font, however this doesn’t seem to be possible currently

this suggestion is probably overkill, and i can most likely workaround around this with FontForge, but im still putting this out there just incase if it’s a good idea 😅

i’m slightly curious on how one can specify width.. i know 2 ideas:

(1) through text input, like how one specifies kerning pairs

!"#ABC 6

[!"#ABC] would be the glyph(s) you want to set width
[6] is the width of the glyph(s)

(2) through the image used to generate font, using a specific color

i see.. thanks for the reply

sorry, but do you think it’s possible to get the best of both worlds of Outline and Pixel contour types conveniently?

i really like this converter you made, but minor issue is that some glyphs don’t get built properly. latest update that introduces Pixel contour type does fix it, but it feels a bit cheesy and i don’t really like that the exported font can get 3× larger

sorry for nitpicking. it’s probably not a big deal, but it feels wrong to me

lmao
