I don't mind having to hunt for clues and items to proceed, but that relies on navigation and in this game it take 3-4 click to get anywhere and the UI is slow on top of that. Its painful. I would suggest having the navigation UI as snappy roll-overs or just a single map with all locations on it so I can get were I need to without having to expand navigation menus constantly.  Hope that helps.

So I try to save at the first opportunity after the intro because I didn't want to have to sit though a lengthy intro twice, and that was just after being prompted to get Kiki dressed (so I hadn't even gone outside yet).  It was at that point it threw the error.
I re-started with a NEW GAME (because  CONTINUE would throw the error as well).  This time I waited till after I had gone outside and after I had gotten Kiki's companion before I tried to SAVE, and it worked fine, no error.

There is only on thing you really have to nail in order to have a good pinball game, and that flipper-feel.  This ain't it.

The key never left the inventory, nor did the character accept it - as expected.  But from then on it functions as if the key wasn't in the inventory, at least according to the message received when attempting to access lower dungeon.  Glad to help.

I have a bug in V0.4RC3 where the lower dungeon key is in my possession but it when I try to use it it says I don't have it.  I think this condition happened after I accidentally chose it as a gift to the Princess.  Hope that helps.
