I think you mean truly avoidable but this is may cause confusion because people in the community use avoidable as "doesn't happen if you choose it not to" and skippable/optional as "happens but you don't have to see it". Regardless, good luck with your game.

I had no idea how to parse that. Generally the further back I read in the thread the less I understood. My question was raised several times and for some reason a concise yes or no was never given, there's always an addendum or something that reads contradictory. I can't tell if it's just a language thing or the developer being elusive.
Can I get a name on the source material? It's possible I missed it but I never saw an actual name in the devlogs, that might be intentional.
And comedic lack of self-awareness. Like I know it sucks to work hard on something and get shit on in return but the lane change from it's porn and fetish doesn't say anything to harem players are forever-alone was too abrupt. Anyway I don't think the change to swinging will do anything to deter haters: the first chapters don't stop being netorare.
I get that they're love interests and it isn't really about them, but for a game with revenge as a theme I'd hope that characters like Mai and Ayumi would see at least a little comeuppance. I know them being "complex" is intentional but that can remain true and they can face consequences. When characters betray and continue to betray, it's a bit unsatisfying when it's treated like this, even if it makes sense in context. Good dick and getting them away from Kenta are rewards themselves.
I realize it's not finished and this could be premature, I'm just thinking out loud.
Yeah man, I don't really care if we get Emily content or not lol. So I take it I'm correct in that they're fucking, so my real question is: in the future will we get love interests having implied, unavoidable sex off-screen like this? Like, even if she's not a love interest, having this strong implication of someone close to the protagonist getting railed so you can set up a potential voyeur/NTR scene feels off in a game where I'm supposed to have the choice of a vanilla experience, even if I can opt out of seeing it, you feel?
This is assuming Emily and Connor are fucking (she has a crush on him, they're busy at the same time, etc): is Emily a real heroine/love interest? Likely it'll be optional in that we can choose to see it or not (which is great), but not avoidable. Is this scenario going to be common for heroines/love interests? This isn't criticism, and I understand how this would play into what you're trying to do, but I'm looking for a more harem experience and not interested in implications the girls are banging off-screen.
The scene itself adds little (except porn to a porn game, so it has value) and can literally be skipped so I'm not sure what the "depth" is. We already know she's with Brad. Anyway I didn't mind the scene but maybe you could mark the "bunk the class" option? And if you're going to make her avoidable (not sure why but okay, options are good) perhaps make the handjob avoidable too? It is a bit strange you can evade everything but that scene tbh.
Yea I read your comment further down about Risa after I asked and I am going to see how that plays out first. It'd be one thing if it were an established boyfriend, a quiet, unrequited love on Ren's part, or something along those lines but that it boiled to two suitors and she chose the other leaves a bit of a bad taste. Then they end up together only after her first choice turns out to be a dick, even given time, that's personally off-putting, and juxtaposed against not only a heroine like Natsumi but a relationship like Ren and Natsumi's, Risa and everything she entails sounds worse by comparison. Compounded by some of her other actions, well, she's rough. Generally I'd leave this alone but a) it is a dating sim and b) she is ostensibly unavoidable if you're interested in anyone other than Natsumi. Still I'm interested in the "why" of things on her part. Thanks for the response.
I well understand your issue (I guess this is an attempt to hone in on what I explicitly call an aside?), look at what I've actually replied to. More than half of your initial comment is pretending you are an authority on poly relationships, worse still as if it matters in a fictional setting, and insulting nebulous players and the developer. You later assume things about me, like you have the extent of the developers rationale, and the public playerbase, where supporters come from. The developer can remove content for any reason they deem, from any build, you don't have to like it, you are free to express that. I'm calling you out because you're being a prick.
Played the prologue which definitely quelled my concern on variety and having more "oomph" on Aiden's scenes. Good stuff. I'm assuming so I could be getting ahead of myself, it seems Connor and Emily are fucking. Like everything, this would probably be optional, but not avoidable (implicitly happens in the background). Is she a heroine, for lack of better term? And if she is, it's cool and all but is this kind of thing going to be the norm (outside of like randoms like the maid with the MMF option)?
I never commented until the content had already been removed at which point I advocated for it to be avoidable, and I am largely pro any and all sexual content being optional unless a developer deems it important. And no shit, but I'm not the one condescending as though they've something substantial to say, as if you are doing those "ignorant" a favor by imparting your "lessons". Glad we have some perspective. And listening or appeasing, whatever you want to call it, I believe it is the developer's prerogative, and that isn't to say one has to like it. I'm playing nice here, you are assuming, calling people manchildren, and the developer pathetic.
As an aside, I'd argue removing the scenes also qualifies as "creative choice" regardless of how it was reached but whatever.
Not a word about what polygamy or harem or whatever means or your personal expectations of them, and I want to stress that is all your "lessons" are because as with all relationships the not everything is a rule and this is fiction, actually matters. Because you believe polyamory typically does or should go both ways means fuck all. And saying the futa or the NTR/sharing adjacent scenes technically fit "harem" isn't going to be compelling to anyone opposed to those fetishes, and they're free to express that they did not like the content regardless. Now should the developer have listened? I do know that's the developer's right at least.
Thank you for answering. Other than I hope it's always evident what content a quest will lead to and that the relationship between Aiden and wife be more fleshed out besides sex (0.1, I know, and I believe she only has perversion points), I have no concerns or substantial criticism.
I do have another question though. Are Aiden's the only sex scenes that will be animated (I opted for the random girl/old man so I don't know if the wife alternative was)? I noticed the positions seemed more varied than standard Koikatsu fare during the old man scene, which I assume is because of animations being limited unless you make them custom. Anyway I think a mix would be nice for all content.
I think I saw all current content without error, so that's good. It appears the way to avoid content is to not take the quests or interact in the first place. In the case of the old man's quest, it's explicit what content you'll be getting, with the duke, you can guess it'll lead to voyeurism, but talking to the man spying on Lily, not so. It's obviously a minor thing, especially this scene in particular, but personally I'd like to know what I'm getting into.
How much will players be penalized for not doing quests in terms of material rewards (gold, the knife, etc.)? And will branching mean missing content of different type e.g will avoiding a monster sex quest potentially mean missing a vanilla, NTR, etc, scene?
Well, can't say I know all that's been said but from what I've seen I hope you're not taking this personally or as an actual indictment on your game. I don't think there was anything inherently wrong with the content but futa and "heroines sleep with others", while not actually opposed to harem are "harder" tags in an otherwise player character-centric and vaguely vanilla game so I can understand some negative reaction. That said, it's your game and you can do whatever you want, it is up to the audience to decide what is worth their time. Personally I don't think you should remove the content wholesale but make the more controversial tags avoidable in that genuinely doesn't happen if the player doesn't want it to, not that it happens but you don't see it (though this comes with it own bag of worms i.e. options can still inform character and for example some will be put off if a heroine shows a willingness for scenarios like sharing). But I'm pretty pro-player agency over even the most vanilla of sexual content unless it's very important to something.
