Well, I guess John learned the hard way that changing the past isn't as easy as pressing a button on a time machine. At least he didn't accidentally create a butterfly apocalypse or something!
It's heartbreaking to think that in my story branch, the character never regained their memory or learned the truth about the smiling person in the photo before their untimely death.
