Gorgeous game.

I can't see the distinction between the scenario I've described in my post and your response... As far as I can tell they both involve UI being replaced by text on a menu with interactions with characters in a 2D or 3D space

Could you elaborate on the theme a little more please? I'm not sure I understand correctly.

Do you mean that in an over world interacting with certain characters will perform one specific action? E.g. speaking to a knight character will result in someone getting attacked.

Thanks for playing! Cultivating tension is something I have been experimenting with for some time.

If you're interested in pursuing that feeling further, here is a link to a game I've worked on that evokes something similar and without bound. Unfortunately it is only on Windows at this link, but I will be uploading this project to itch for other platforms soon. https://globalgamejam.org/2017/games/monkey-way

Thank you so much for giving it a go anyway!

The game may continue in development, have not made a final decision yet. I have some ideas for expansion in scope - most notably a competent friendly AI inspired by the partnership between Furiosa and Max in the film.

Wow well done!

No problem, I appreciate feedback!

I did consider those kinds of systems but I opted to go for something a little more relaxing rather than an action game! Something that my parents could play in order to help their skills. The idea behind there being no end condition is that hopefully the player will continue until they feel they're making progress. Keeping the scope for systems small also helped me throw this together in just a few days.  :)

If excitement is what you're after I have worked on something that may be more up your alley! It also has no end condition but it does ramp up in speed and it does have a scoring system - increases with time! Unfortunately only a Windows build was submitted for that jam but if you're on another platform I may be able to hunt down the project files.  https://globalgamejam.org/2017/games/monkey-way

Thank you for letting me know.

Had a quick Google, according to this there may be something else I needed to provide for Windows.

This is news to me, I will fix the download link shortly. Apologies.
