Is there any way to remap the controls?  Frankly, they're... not that great. I love the concept and the way it handles but the controls just make it way too frustrating to actually enjoy what should be a great game.

I just thought that was a "me" problem. But I did have to adjust to hitting things when they were basically on me instead of when it looked like the character would be in the right place to hit it. I was always too early.

You're not alone. I tried to play the demo twice and lasted less than 5 minutes each time.  I was kinda looking forward to getting to chill and play for a while without having to be frantic about it but the demo really doesn't allow for that.
