If you don't want to play text-based games then don't? I think you're missing the whole point on many levels. A text-based game with no art is by no means 'incomplete' or worse, there are plenty of very recent examples of historically significant text-only games. 'Without the need to get an artist for your project' makes the inclusion of visual art redundant. It's literally the same concept as reading a book that has pictures vs one without. Every human is capable of imagination and the only achievement in taking these shortcuts and being satisfied with the results shows you lack imagination or are too lazy to engage with imagination. Engage with your creativity, imagination, and that of others instead of letting it be spoonfed to you because of laziness. Read a book, close your eyes and think about it, pick up a pencil, touch grass.
