I made White. When the theme "It's Spreading" was announced, I thought of delicious breakfast foods, but swerved to make something about an issue that's important to me. I was clinging to my love for bats and to the words "very limited working copy of your game" to get me through. It's playable, it communicates the theme. That'll do, bats. That'll do. I've got a roadmap for improvements I want to make after the voting ends, and feedback from fellow jammers has been valuable!!
My personal goal outside of learning how to make a game was to make sure I didn't submit it last minute, because I've lived my life like that. We all deserve a life free from that, "oh FISHSTICKS I'm BEHIND!!" cortisol rush. I'll take 14 hours before the deadline! That's great!
I also didn't announce what I was doing until it was done. I really liked the experience of thrusting this thing into the world without warning, and it gave my intrinsic motivation a healthy workout. I wasn't doing it for anyone else (but the bats). I think only my boyfriend knew what I was up to for the majority of the time.
