the concept is soooooo GOOD!! I love how you wrote/presented his "friends". it kept me guessing of it the text changing was intentional or not - if it was just a bug. but no! the slow reveal that they aren't real was written soooo well... I love how you didn't TELL us that, you SHOWED us! I loved the subtle hints too
in the end MC(do they have a name? I think it was said but I can't find it again...) told us that Mr X. and presumably the rest weren't real but still, it was so satisfying to have my tiny theories be true
yeah yeah that's a really simple thing to obssess over but I don care, I like it!
also that cliffhanger was criminal. I WANT MOAAAR!!
I'd say implementing the Lore Dives and Whisper of Carmine is a great idea, since people could easily miss these, without even knowing what they are. but of course, saying its just additional/"filler" content would be necessary!
If you haven't read it already, I'd seriously advise going in blind. trust me.
OMG TYLOS' ENDING?? I wasn't prepared for that! they were so sweet together, talking about a better future and living together, for it to just... end like that. it's so tragic.
still, from a writing perspective I absolutely love it! even tho it broke my heart like that..
