Whoops! I got too greedy. I won't be able to finish this on time.
Good luck everyone else! I can't wait to vote for stuffs!
One of the trickier things is having the rewards being still worth the trouble of solving the puzzles. Generic upgrades aren't as compelling when you have to go through a brain teaser to get to. As a result, I feel the first dungeon has the most items in it, the second has a couple that open up the rest of the game, and the final dungeon is sort of the big puzzles left in the main dungeon and a final Mini Dungeon which, while it doesn't have as much, does have a few challenging things.
Since this game lacks a "Boss" battle, I think the final dungeon's riddles will be more like a "Boss"
I guess I should actually make a topic for this thing. Knight's Labyrinth is a game inspired by La Mulana and Maze of Galious. It's on a much smaller scale though. I plan for there to be a main dungeon connecting three smaller dungeons. While it's a platformer, "Metroidvania" isn't exactly accurate. It's more riddles and trying to solve them. Most rooms will have a tablet to read (Provided you have found the magic book to translate), giving you a clue to use to unlock a treasure chest in another room. Most rooms will have either a tablet or a chest. Aside from that, the smaller dungeons (Gem Trials) are also hidden, requiring you to solve a riddle somewhere in the main dungeon to reveal the door. Perhaps an item somewhere will help you discover when you have solved one of the riddles of the Labyrinth?
While movement is slow at first, there are items to help make exploring easier. Make you faster, double jump, and even a ranged attack. Not everyone you meet will be a foe. Strange travelers may have been trapped in the Labyrinth with you. Some may even be the keys to some puzzles!
Here are some of the rooms I have so far, but they may change as I add more things.
