You can't customize your character for some reason, as the character creation section is missing completely.

EDIT: Apparently I found out that you CAN access the character creation, after changing some of the default settings. W/o changing some settings, for me the scaling, metric system, etc. THEN It will allow you to access character creation. There may be a bug with the settings not allowing you to create a character. It also appears you need to enter the game, restart, change the settings, then it will allow you to enter character creation.

Ok thank you so much, I've downloaded their older game and I didn't get anything but I saw this same msg on their deviantart page for this, so I was greatly concerned.

can anyone verify this or no? I hadn't downloaded this yet, but this makes me very concerned if true...
