No good, sorry to hear that. Do you have discord? There's lots of people who play ttrpgs on there. I host a few games myself upon request and air them live sometimes if there's enough interest.
Most people play ttrpgs online these days because of Covid, which changed the landscape from physical books n hanging out with friends to pdfs and zoom calls, lol.
But no matter how you play, it does't change the game.
Check out the live play video for Short Order Apocalypse "Advanced" on my itch page to give you an idea of what it looks like in action.
There are also lots of diffrent VTT's (virtual tabel tops) that allow you to connect with others online who want to play/run games as well. Check out Foundry, Roll 20, Fantasy Grounds, and Owlbear Rodeo, to name a few.
I have plans to turn this into a card game, so that you can have different locations to defend, with different options to choose from. Some of those options include increasing dice size for your soldiers, and even different monter types (boss waves) like d8 skeletons, d20 dragons, etc.
Join my discord to follow along and see more as things develop.
hi there, glad you liked it. To answer your questions.
Yes, you can have 0 in one and 3 in another, thats perfectly fine. I would have loved to included more examples into the document, however; this was intended as a 1-page / 1-shot rpg as part of a writting exercise for a jam hosted on itch.
No, there isn't anyway for character advancement, this is a one page / one shot rpg, just create a character, spend a few hours and have fun.
Deception could be interpreted as you like, i was just aiming for an equal number of skills for each attribute, and was missing a social skill for Dex.
Yes, magic is a generic attack.
No healing needed, the "blak-out" mechanic makes this more of a "survival" styled rpg as per the whole 1-shot thing.
I'm glad you are interested in it, and if you want to see more, I could consider making it into one of my larger works. Check out some of my "full sized" rpgs on my itch page. And I've got tons of free works on my discord channel as well.
Happy gaming!
Pretzels has always been a community driven game. Right now, for the 2021 - 2022 period, I'm looking to take it to new heights (and lows). Any suggestions for which direction this game should go (including down the toilet) can be left here. Modules, Campaigns, Miniatures, Print Editions, T-shirts, you name it.
If the players want it, I'll give it to 'em! (... hmmm, I probably should rephrase that statement...)
