Very cool

Super fun game. Hooked me right away. Great work.

Super interesting. Really enjoyed it

Extremely cool game.

Thanks for the tip CurioShade and being patient with someone learning the ropes. Updating the post now.

Hey, I'm trying to do something similar. I'm not sure if I'd be able to help much since I'm uber beginner, but would be curious to hear about your progress if there's a server open. I clicked the link but it seems to be timed out.

Hi all, new to the community. Seems like an awesome space. I'm quitting my job and want to learn game development. I think my engine of choice is Godot. Have been learning it last couple weeks and running into some blocks. I'm pretty brand new to coding, but I have a lot of drive and will have a lot of time on my hands.

I'm looking for someone available 1-2 hours a week for weekly hour-long coaching sessions, and sporadic question answering over email. I'll pay $100/hr for the coaching, and pay $1 / min for random zoom tech support questions during the week.

About the game: I'm still conceiving of it and am choosing between really simple overhead perspective for navigation through a variety of rooms, or even more simply, each scene is just a flat layer with minimal background and a portrait of the character you're interacting with. Gameplay will consist of navigating dialogue trees while attempting not to lose morale (a la Disco Elysium), interspersed with mini-games that symbolize various mental processes (e.g. "pushing away intrusive thoughts").

Ideal coach is experienced building 2D games in Godot. At this point I'm trying to learn the basics by just diving into designing and building the fairly simple mini-games. But will need a lot of help with the main game where they are all connected, with a variety of dialogue tree-based scenes, with a basic inventory, health bar, etc...Would also be very cool if someone can shine a bit of a light onto how I would conceive of the assets needed and how to partner with this community to invite paid and volunteer collaborators for animation especially.

Would be a huge plus if you're also a nice person who's into the idea of helping someone realize their dream.
