to answer your question, no it wont, but if you are still unsure, you can go into the game file, find the file name "www" under that, there is "save".

move it to desktop, download the new version again, and put the "save" file with the one in your desktop.

If you do not like the price, you can download the demo first, that's why NLCH gave demo's for free before you decide to spend money on it. 

And btw, 15 for this game is already good enough considering the amount of work they had to do to make this work, and don't forget he has to pay his employees.
