Hi Marius,

Merry Christmas and Happy holidays to you as well!

Overall I am very happy with the CPU Prioritizer that you have developed.

I have the latest version installed of the 'Set and forget' option in Windows Services.

I have noticed that the service sometimes doesn't run,..which makes MSFS or DCS default to the Normal CPU priority. Even though I can find the FlightSimAutoCPUPriorityService in my list of Services and the  Startup type is set as "Automatic"

When I reinstall your .exe it works fine again for a couple of times. But so far I had to reinstall 3 times.

I have no idea what could be causing this behaviour...perhaps a Windows 10 update or something like that?

You asked for any Flightsim software ideas that you could develop? Only thing I can think of at the moment if some kind of (modular) overarching Simlauncher platform for all of the major flightsimulators.
Besides launching the Simulator you could add features in this tool to manage your sim, addons, modules, (VR)settings, tweaks, scenery etc. But also create certain launch profiles including third party software (TrackIR, Voice Attack, LittleNavMap etc).
More or less like MFSF Addon linker, DCS updater Utility, DCS Witching Utility and SimStarter NG combined.

Anyway...big dreams :-D

Enjoy your holidays!

kind regards,

Martijn

Hi Marius,

Thanks for your reply! I have downloaded the latest version of the automated installer and it seems to work fine for both MSFS and DCS.

Both sims launch with CPU priority set to High now. Ik will let you know if I run into issues via your Discord channel.

regards,

Martijn

Hi Marius,

Thanks for your quick reply. I have installed the .NET Core package that you linked and it looks like it's working now.

When I run your .exe after MSFS of DCS is launched I see that the process is changed to High.

Just to be clear, do I need to run your program every time I launch MSFS or DCS?...or only once?

Thanks again!

Martijn

Hi! Thanks for creating this much needed tool. I play MSFS and DCS so it is perfect for me. Unfortunately for me it is not working as shown in Overkill's Youtube video.

Step I take:

  1. Downloaded the folder from this site, unpacked it in a folder on my computer where I keep my Flightsim addons.
  2. I changed the compatibility settings to "Run this program as an administrator.
  3. I double click the FlightSimAutoCPUPriority.exe
  4. I see a quick flash on my screen which looks like a command prompt window but it flashes only for a fraction of a second.
  5. I launched DCS via DCS.exe and via DCS_updater.exe and MSFS (Steam) via the MSFS-addons-linker .
  6. After lauch I check the priority of DCS.exe or FlightSimulator.exe via the Details-tab in the Task Manager.
  7. Priority is still on Normal.

Can you please advice if I missed anything in the installation or if I need to change a setting on my PC to make your tool working?

Thanks in advance!

regards,

Martijn
