So far, I have found two helpful resources: the first of course is the GDevelop Wiki, it has some tutorials to get you started and there is also a YouTube series by Sparckman that shows how to make a Mario style platformer in the engine.

This will be the working devlog for my game being developed for #MyFirstGameJam .

So far, I just have an engine picked out and a genre, I will be developing my game in GDevelop 5, it will be a platformer game.

The goal will be to get a player moving around of course, a start screen, at least 5 levels/stages to run around in, some collectibles or a scoreboard, maybe a powerup, a few enemies to deal with, maybe a boss, and an ending.

GDevelop is still kind of new so there isn't many tutorial resources out yet but so far I have felt comfortable with it and so it seems like I'll be figuring out some of it as I go. The game making process starts today! Good luck to my other fellow jammers as well!

1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself? Mooral here, ready and nervous for my first game jam!

2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining? This will be my first game jam, I made a goal this year to get into game development, so I bought a new laptop and downloaded some game engines and have been watching a lot of YouTube tutorials and game design videos, then I saw the idea of a game jam! I said, this is perfect to get my feet wet and finally make something.

3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own? So many favorites, too many to list, been wanting to make games for a long time.

4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine? Game dev is what I went to school for but I got burned out after college, now it's time to right that wrong.

5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!

Gaming, Pro Wrestling, and my family.

6. What are your goals for this game jam? To make something playable and get it out there.

7. Any advice to new jammers (if you're a veteran)?

8. If you're a returning jammer, what can the admins do to improve your jam experience?
