Rated! Great job! I like the sound effects and music!

Here’s mine: https://itch.io/jam/mashup-game-jam-2/rate/1095057

Like giving the player the illusion of choice, like, if you have an NPC who offers two dialog choices, but both lead to the same outcome.

Yeah, population growth is something I should have  kept an eye on more, and by that I mean, at all. I think I'm going to keep working on this game for a while, and the first thing I'm going to tackle (after all of the persistent bugs are sorted out!) is making the win condition more achievable by adding in population generating cards.

The overworld thing at the top was originally intended to build up as you build cards, but I didn't have time to get that into the jam entry! Definitely something to expand on going forward! Card descriptions were also considered, I just didn't have the UI real estate to work with for adding those, but I suppose I could add those with a toggle of some sort.

Thanks for the feedback!

Music is on point, the aesthetic is cool and I like the contrast between the higher res background and the lower res foreground -- that makes things pop nicely. The one thing really  lacking here for me is the gameplay. While I appreciate the message the game is aiming to convey, I think either more interactive and engaging gameplay or even railroaded gameplay could help pave the path toward that message and really flesh out what you're going for. Really solid first jam/game entry though!

Yeah, sorry about that,  unfortunately the gameplay that was in the cafe had to be cut last minute due to numerous bugs. The idea was to have a coffee making minigame, which was finished, but didn't want to work when the game was built. I'm going to continue working on the game and that's at the top of my priority list going forward.

Hi, sorry to hear you were having trouble with it. If you're in the first room, you should be able to progress by walking near the stairs in a valid spot so an arrow appears to click on. If that arrow is not appearing, there may be an underlying issue with the Unity player and how I scripted things, so definitely let me know if no arrow appears near the stairs.

Are you able to reproduce the bug? It might take a few seconds to be able to exit while the next scene loads.
