Yay, I’m glad you found it useful! 😄

Ah, great! I’m glad we got there!

So, you’ll need to follow this license, but the short version is: feel free to make a better version, you just can’t sell your version or mine.

Hey, I love the idea of this jam! Unfortunately, I discovered it too late to contribute this year. Would you be interested in me entering an already-complete game that fits the theme and rules?

Okay, I disabled the references to the audio files (since those are not available).

If you can clone the repo that will be the quickest and easiest way to test if this fixes the issue for you. Alternatively, you should be able to download the Memory-GBS4.gbsproj file and replace the one you have currently.

Let me know how this goes for you!

Mm, I think this is a problem on my end with the sound files. I’ll take a look at it this afternoon and let you know.

Hello!

Ah, here’s a thought: did you clone the repository or download the zip?

If you downloaded the zip, check to make sure that GitHub included the PNG files as actual PNGs and not as git-lfs stubs. (You can do this by trying to open them in an image editor vs a text editor.)

If they are text files instead of image files, you can either download the image files individually through your web browser or delete your copy of the project and use git to clone the repo.

Let me know if that works!

Which version of GB Studio are you using?

Thanks!

Yay, you’re super welcome! :D

This game has been on my mind all year – I really love everything it does. Wrote a small review on my site. Will be thinking about the game design lessons I learned from Arel for some time to come…. 🍁🍲💟🧪

Glad you liked it!

I do know the type! And wow, I’m impressed at the visual effects you got in GBS! Great work!

Hype!! Great character designs, wonderful music, slick visual effects, and nice controls! Definitely will play this on hardware! 😍

Am I correct in thinking you wrote this from scratch in C/ASM?

Also, are the kasa obake wearing heels? 🌂👡

That’s an interesting question!

When I started making the Yurivania series I wasn’t very familiar with the GB line of hardware so I didn’t really understand the implications of my color choices.

Instead, I thought of the values that the default web emulator GB Studio uses as the target palette. It attempts to desaturate the colors like a non-backlit GBC, but I don’t believe they do a terribly accurate job.

In general, anything slightly desaturated will work, but you can use the screen shots on this page as a guide!

Aw thanks, and thanks double that you read the accompanying article! 😃

Dang, tough to pick between the choices this month!

Thank you, and great work!

Oh yay! I have much more I want to add :)

Awesome! :D

Heck yeah! 🎉

Mmm, that’s a cool thought…. I might be able to add that as an alternate mode. 🤔 And thanks!

That’s the best I’ve heard anyone achieve so far, so you’re at the top of the stack! Apparently I should have added a high score!

This narrative is wild! I’m not sure I can completely follow it in its current form, but I like what you’re up to.

It’s really cool getting to see it as a WIP. Thanks for sharing!

Gosh, the art is so, so good! I love literally every single panel.
I could also see this story being really helpful for someone just figuring things out for themselves. Great work! 👚✨

A webshrine is a ’90s style website that includes information and fanish media related to something, often related to a piece of entertainment. Webshrines are typically but not always made by fans.

This is one of my favorite examples.

Not quite done at time of submission, but a lot is there and I will keep adding to it till it’s finished. :)

Congratulations! That’s cool as heck!!

This is so cool! 🎮📲

I don’t know how I missed this 6 months ago, but I’m really glad I found it now! I also just about flipped when I saw you used some of my fonts!!
😃😄😁😁😁✨

What a cool display of history! Great work!

Lovely work!

Cute! I love the color scheme and how you handled the anatomy!

Ahh, I’m glad people are still playing this!

Love the aesthetic!

Great work! I love the Castlevania II vibes, and the spritework is amazing! Catchy music, too! 🕯⚔⚰

Cool idea!

This is really fun! Great job boiling the mechanics down to a minimum.

Thank you for all the hard work! I would love to help next year if I have the bandwidth when the time comes!

Hi Winter! Welcome!

It sounds like you have a great plan.

Let me know if you have any questions; I’d be happy to help!

Congratulations! I know it was tough getting this one out the door. Going to share it with all my dungeon-crawler-player friends! 🛤

Great work! I love how quick and responsive it is (name entry systems from the 2.x era were always kinda sluggish).

Also, great font!

Lovely! 🌳🌞🌻
