this game was so good!!!!! i love the subtly spooky vibes all throughout the work. both kaito and jun are precious, although I definitely have a soft spot for jun.
the cohesive aesthetic throughout the whole work is really inspiring! from the backgrounds to the sprites to the UI, even the screen resolution. and i love the way you used ren'py to its fullest potential with the minigame and the choice screen towards some of the endings.
i'll be keeping an eye out for your future stuff!
It took me way, way too long to actually play this especially considering I knew it would be exactly up my alley but ahhhhh, Ebi, I love this VN so much!!!
Spoilery stuff down here I guess?
I've always been intrigued by second-person perspective and the possibilities they offer and this was a wonderful exploration! A bunch of the themes in this are so similar to Duskbound, like the importance placed on names and the different endings all having a place in the narrative canonically. I loved the princess route the most I think, the idea of eating someone as an expression of love just resonates. It's the perfect crossroads of romance and horror. (I don't know if you've read Toilet Bound Hanako-kun but it also includes this beautifully, big rec!) Reading something so cool has reignited my passion for making my own stuff. Thank you so much Ebi!!!
Massively late but the storytelling in this game was amazing! I got all the endings without the walkthrough but unlike most people I started off with quite a few bad endings so I had a horrible first impression of everyone lol
Anyway, this really inspired me regarding well done horror stories in small timeframes, thank you for the game!!
Alright I played Pitstop in Purgatory and I enjoyed it, but this, this was FANTASTIC! The art got even better since the first instalment and I loved the interactivity with the day/night cycle. I'm invested on so many levels, I really want Vol and Astrid to be happy together....... It pains me that I have no influence on it and I can only hope that things will turn out for the better in the end but to be honest I have little hope (then again I love me some tragedy, so I am along for the ride regardless)
I played as uh, "unpleasant" Isobel and I enjoyed being a rude little shit very much haha. And how could I not mention the TWIST at the end, holy shit, I did not see it coming but it was so good!!!! I liked the characters better this time around as well, they seem to have more going for them and are more likable in their complexity. My favourite so far is Sheol! I'm torn between going back to see what changes when I pick a different alignment or waiting for new content and trying that out with a different alignment. But I think I've already decided that mean Isobel is "canon" for me haha, so maybe replaying it is...
This was so romantic and lovely! I adore the concept of soulmates tbh and this was such a beautiful exploration. I can't help but want to see more of their lifetimes, like the one in the dream at the beginning. The first "loop" might be my favourite, but I adored the bickering in the second and of course the conclusion. the progression actually reminded me a lil of my own game adjskgh
Thank you for sharing this wonderful game, I'll be keeping an eye on your further projects!
Played through the demo and I had a great time! I was intrigued by the worldbuilding (already have some suspicions for where the plot will go) and I really liked the inclusion of RPG mechanics.
The GUI is so polished and beautiful, I also liked the way the magic effects were represented on screen. Unfortunately I was immediately charmed by Lucion more than Keldran haha, evil little brat is just my archetype...
Haha you're so right, they are almost both yandere. I don't really like romance stories where things feel kind of one-sided with a passive MC, so I wanted to make sure the pale one had her own drive as well. They're mutually dysfunctional, it's not just the LI!
Thank you for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it <3
Thank you for playing! Happy to hear you liked the art. It feels super rewarding to do art & writing myself since it feels like the game is really my own project entirely, but maybe next time I'll outsource programming since it's not exactly my forte.
I guess the teeth were a bit obvious hehe, the idea here is that obviously someone wouldn't really expect a vampire at first glance just on sharp teeth since they're not supposed to be real.
I do admit I like my men feminine... And this game was made to appeal to me in the first place hehe. More long-haired LIs is always a win in my book!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a well thought out comment, Chattercap! I'm really glad you ended up liking it.
I really wanted the game to be deeply romantic but also clearly dark and messed up, which I thought might be hard to balance, but I'm glad it landed! You really picked up on a few of the points I wanted to emphasise and that's the best thing to hear as a writer <3
I didn't expect it but I was actually quite moved by this game. The message of the game is something very beautiful that we don't really see a lot of in otome games. In the current stage of my life, I could really relate to Kana, so it was just the right time. Thank you for making this game!
By the way, if you ever need a proofreader for the English version of your games, please feel free to send me a message.
Yoooo, I can't believe how good that was!!!!! Oh my god, I need more. I don't want to go into spoiler territory in the comment section but I need to talk about this. Aaaaah, I love Raku! And the twists... I saw them coming but in the best way.
The unconventional presentation was absolutely gorgeous by the way, I loved the choice to do basically all CGs. And the voice acting was so good too... Honestly, I have no critique, I am in love with this game. I just want to know more lore, and what happens after hahaha
You did an amazing job, and I am looking forward to any other projects from you!
Played through this and the writing was so good! I really liked slowly getting to know Kira and Gabe and the setting of a zombie (post-)apocalypse was a breath of fresh air.
Got all the endings but the first one I got (ending 4) was my favourite, a sort of bittersweet conclusion seemed fitting. Great job on the game, Azure! And everyone else on the team of course.
This game was so heartwarming and sweet! I found Peter to be very relatable and cute. His candid nature is endearing and when he came out with the Proust questionnaire, I was sold haha
The idea of having two different sprite styles is really fun, though I imagine it's a lot of work. All the art was lovely, I especially like the main menu piece!
All in all, you did a great job and I really enjoyed my time with the game.
Thank you for giving Duskbound a try! I'm really happy you liked the writing and art ^_^ I definitely tried to go for a victorian/gothic feel to the story so I'm glad it landed!
And thanks for letting me know about the issues! I've updated the game to unlock the CG variation properly and I've added a choice if you restart after reaching the final ending for whether you'd like to see it again or return to the earlier loop.
Ebi, thank you so much for playing and leaving such a kind comment T u T
I definitely started development with an aesthetic/colour scheme at the center and I'm happy it worked out into a cohesive feel! And I'm glad you liked ending 5, It was one I definitely wanted to include to show the MC's determined side.
I'll keep your comment about the font in mind, it probably would be about as stylistically fitting if it wasn't italics so that's a good thing to consider for next time.
