Question about the Legend's Wake expansion:

Is the combat system expanded at all? The one thing I felt really underwhelming in the core book was your options in building attacks. Particularly, the lack of ability to combine effects.

Can an attack have both Heavy and Area applied at once? Would I need a new Area skill for each variant of the attack? For example, would Area Poison Attack apply to all of my Poison Attack variants, would I need to unlock a new Area skill for each one, or can Area not stack with other effects?

When you roll Fast or Heavy attack, you're instructed that you can create a new version of that skill with that modifier on it. Does this variant skill start at Level 1 (Basic) and need to be leveled separately?

Cool. Thanks for the replies!

I know! I was amazed that no one ever told you considering it's one of the starting skills! I had a feeling it might be defense-down since there was no defense equivalent to Curse.

(Speaking of, can negative defense levels start adding dice to the attacker's pool or does defense only get reduced to 0?)

Slimes & Aberrations start with an attack skill called Acid Attack. Unlike Poison Attack or Disease Attack, Acid Attack isn't listed in the Skill section. What's the intended effect of Acid Attack?

Thanks for the speedy answer! If I could have one more question, are you able to hunt for end-of-day food and shelter in different zones if you have enough spare movement to move between them?

Are you able to re-challenge an enemy you've already defeated outside of the Level Grind option? It seems you only unlock Level Grind once you've completed the fight perfectly, but I don't see any actions that mention fighting mobs again so I'm unsure if you only have one shot to unlock it.

It'd be great if you could either add the ability to set your staples or remove the 8 card restriction. I prefer to have representations of them in my hand and it'd be nice if I could have everything saved in one deck.

The tool's 8 card restriction seems unnecessary when the rulebook and GM are already establishing the restriction in-game. Removing it would also better accommodate houserule games.
