thanks so much for checking it out, and for sharing how far you managed to get. like old school NES titles, this game isn't meant to be finished on the first try. just keep grinding away and you'll get it. and yes, you're meant to eat a lot of damage during boss fights, hence the importance of saving up enough HP.
as for the glitch, i'm not sure what's causing it. i test this game on firefox and chrome and have never run into that. what browser do you use? i implemented an alternate outfit recently which is red and may have something to do with it (press right + attack at title screen to use it).
This is where I suspect a lot of us are. Game devs are fairly solitary creatures who do not feel comfortable pushing their games onto others like a common huckster. Marketing requires a certain abrasiveness. You need an aggressive personality, and nothing turns me off more. I'm far less likely to try a game that's been shoved in my face than one I happen to stumble upon. It's sad that marketing is even necessary. Coding, graphic design, etc is hard enough without having to learn yet ANOTHER skill.
Looks like you've already been deluged with offers, but if I can add my own to the mix:

Some of you may recall playing Ninja Gaiden back in the old days. This series had quite an effect on me, as it was one of my first forays into a truly (some might say tortuously) difficult game. Lotus Crusade seeks to recapture some of that magic, and is a retro-style platform game and a throwback to a time when things were a tad more challenging.
