Thank you! I'm always really glad to see someone like any of my characters!
I hope I can continue doing a good job with her.👍

You mean the last 4 in the gallery? Lumina can give you hints for those.
The bit where Lumina asks for money to buy something is actually from an event from a future version, fixing it right now, sorry for the confusion!

Currently players mainly visit locations to find NSFW events pretty easily, but sometimes they need to either make enough money or develop their stats (Currently only developing strength is necessary) to unlock certain events. Most events don't have stat requirements at the moment.

I think this is an issue that was resolved on the Patreon version, should be fixed in the next public build.

Probably not, as the public version will always lag behind the one supported by patrons.

What type are you referring to? There's "auto" mode a player can activate via the bottom control panel, but there are some parts of the script where I add hard skips (usually when a character's line is interrupted by something unexpected).
If it's the latter, send feedback via in-game option and I'll check if I should change something.

Sounds like a script issue that I think I may have solved on the Patreon version.
If you find it again, send a feedback report via the form linked in-game with the line of dialogue you were at when it happened and I'll check.

Thank you! Trying my hand at doing some more original stuff, hopefully support will grow and I'll be able to dedicate more time to it!

Lumina is doing her best...

Thank you!

There will be more, of course.

No NTR here, you're not in a relationship with any of the girls you see with other characters.

Hey there, don't worry it's a fair question!
Since the previous public version  was with a different engine, you can't transfer those saves to this one.

From now on, your previous save files should appear on new versions when you download and install them, but there's a chance they will be incompatible with the newer updates and you may be locked in an unwinnable state since this is not a linear VN. You can still try, but keep in mind it will probably not work quite right.

If it's helpful, new Patreon Updates currently come with a cheat mode that starts you just with the right settings to see the new content, plus the ability to simply see all new scenes directly.

Not necessarily but probably, as I may have changed things in the gamethat may leave your file in an unwinnable situation.
I guess you  can try reloading as your saves should still be there, but I can't guarantee there won't be issues since it's not a linear VN.

Have you tried leaving the mall before it's late?

Not at the moment, would like to try some time, but I'm I have to catch up to art content I created during the conversion to Ren'Py, hopefully I'll be able to try it out eventually!

Only available language is english at the moment.

Everything is consensual, the characters are always into it but some may feel ashamed of going as far as they went and some may play rougher than others.

You need to redownload each new version.

Don't have much time to investigate that. Will look into it if the game ends up being rather popular.

Haven't had many problems so far. The Unity version seemed to have some memory leak issues that crashed the android app regularly and aparently Unity was unwilling to fix, so without some serious expertise it'd have been unusable.

This together with Unity's last year shenanigans pushed me towards switching engines. I hope I won't have any more serious issues.

Just updated.👍

Possibly if patron interest is there. I already got a plot framework to make it viable, but it'd be very time consuming, and I'd only be able to do it if patronage is actually pushing/voting for it.

Very

I have heard of that issue before, but I'm not quite sure why it happens.
It shouldn't happen on the upcoming Ren'py version.

The current plan is for the final full version to be sold wherever this kind of games can be sold.

There should be a Save or Q.Save button at the bottom of the screen.

Thank you for your interest.
Thanks to patron support on the game Patreon Coillworks, I've been able to spend some time every month on converting Coill City to Ren'py, this should resolve most issues players had. It should be ready in a month or two.

After that's ready, I'll look into making a new public version with a few more Scenes.

No idea why that'd happen, it sounds like issues with itch.io servers. I've added a MEGA link with the latest public build, you should be able to download it from there.

It's a known issue with unknown cause, probably due to Unity issues I haven't managed to discover.
I'm currently working on a Ren'Py version which should work on all platforms without a hitch 🤞.

Either the download broke, or it didn't extract properly. First, I'd suggest simply redownloading the zip file, it's size should be 364 MB or 372.758 KB in file explorer.

If you have 7zip installed, you can extract all the contents like so:
Right click the zip file » 7zip » Extract to "CCity-0.1.011-Public(June_2023)-PC\"
Winrar would work similarly.

If you don't have either, the zip file may appear to open like any normal folder, but it's still compressed, you're just seeing the contents in file explorer.

Once you first open it and see a single game folder, there should be a button at the top of the file explorer that reads "Extract All"
Looks like this:

Following Windows' prompts from there should extract the whole game folder into the folder where the zip file was, probably your downloads folder.

I hope that helped you.

Sounds like you're having problems extracting all the contents of the zip file.
I'm unfamiliar with why this may happen, the only cause I can imagine is that either the file didn't download right or you may not have enough space available in the drive you're trying to install into, but that'd be rare nowadays.

First comfirm that the files in the zip file match these

You can check the fully extracted CCity folder by right clicking it » Properties. The final size should be 666MB (ominous, I know), 176 files and 17 folders. If that doesn't match, there was an issue during extraction or download.

I'd recommend deleting all CCity folders you've extracted, clearing up some space in your C drive (deleting downloaded files you don't need any more should help) or simply extracting the zip file into a drive with at least 2GB of space available.
Of course, make sure to let the file extract fully, but I imagine you already know that.
If somehow that doesn't work, delete the zip you downloaded and redownload fresh, maybe there was an issue with the download.

I don't think I could help much more than this, so I hope you're able to make it work in the end

Not a public one at the moment, only my Patreon's Discord.

Unity doing Unity things I imagine, another good reason to switch to Ren'py!

(1 edit)

It must be a false positive. The current public version is using Unity, which not long ago was planning on counting game installs for a fee to devs. This must mean Unity has something in all games to count these installs and notify Unity, which is probably why virustotal threw a falso positive.

Next build will be made in Ren'py, so that shouldn't be a problem any more.

I hope you liked it!
I'm surprised it was hard to find, where did you first learn of it?

Thank you for giving it a shot!
"Blank" screens on android have been an issue for a while, sometimes it's black, sometimes it's white, sometimes it's magenta! Building a VN in Unity wasn't as straightforward as I imagined...
I'm planning on rebuilding the game in Ren'py after October's build (the latest one on Patreon), so future versions should work well on Android 🤞.

Thank you so much.
Yeah, eventually I'd like to have more languages available, especially if it's simple to do so on Ren'py.
Not sure I can afford the time necessary at the moment as patronage is still low, should be easier if patronage grows and I'm able to dedicate more time to the game.

It's the build posted in October, but with content up until June 2023 (prev. version was up until April).
I can see how it may be confusing, I'll try to come up with a better way to name these public versions.
