We are thrilled to bring our game to Itch.io!

Kickstarter

Synopsis:

Take on the role of The Ferryman and explore a perilous realm teeming with raiders, ferocious beasts, and harsh weather while seeking supplies, jobs, and companions.

After enduring years of hardships in the wasteland, your weary body and fractured mind are now at a critical crossroads: either escape the territory or risk becoming just another hood ornament.

Rules Preview

I had the pleasure to test this game, so my review may be slightly biased, it’s really fun and easy to get into. As a horror fan, I was hooked immediately. The challenging and quick gameplay enhances replay value, allowing for speed runs or a more strategic approach to gathering supplies, though staying in one location too long increases danger.  Personally, I prefer to explore each location 2-3 times before progressing to the next, as it seems like the best way to fully engage with the game.

The game offers a solid amount of content for its size, but it would be great to see a larger or expanded version in the future, featuring more events, choices, and items to collect. This could be similar to how Headcheese's Into the Zone evolved into Escape the Zone.

Okay, coolio. Thanks.

Is this a sequel to Into The Zone, an updated version, or an expansion for Into The Zone?

Yeah FLEABAG CHUPACABRA kept coming back for more... created a hilarious rivalry.

Awesome! That sounds great, can't wait!

Yeah, I noticed while playing that there weren't any location tables for Tunnels and the Swamp, and you just had to engage in battles to finish the mission. At that moment, I wasn't sure if another mission would take me to those locations, which made me anxious about missing out on playing all the missions.

I'm guessing the Tunnels and Swamp locations will be added later on with the inclusion of 6 more missions.

No problem! Glad I could catch the omission for you. I'll keep playtesting for you as you keep adding content.

Played a game tonight, acting as a GM for my friend as he played out an episode. Took about 3 hours, but it was a great time and even brought back memories of our childhood.

This is the what happened during the episode:

  • Heard about a little girl who fell into a sinkhole and ended up at the hospital 3 days later so I went to ask her some questions.
  • Fought FLEABAG CHUPACABRA and then saw a perp leaving the scene!
  • Followed the perp to a casino, but it turned out that the FLEABAG CHUPACABRA did not take enough of an ass whooping.
  • The fight was witnessed by an admirer who offered their help in the case.
  • Entered the casino but was immediately stopped by the Muscle Bound Maniac and Pinata Head.
  • Defeated the terrible duo and proceeded to investigate the crime scene, but it turned out to be a red herring and the perp got away.
  • A tip about a bank robbery led me to break down a barricade and confront the Mutant Cretinoid Juvenile Delinquent, thwarting Pinata Head's robbery and saving an innocent bystander. Found a clue at the bank which lead to a seedy bar in a bad part of town.
  • Upon entering the bar, I was forced into a handicap match. I landed a jab on the Cannibal Imp and followed up with a powerful right hook to the Muscle Bound Maniac, but it was the sight of my old foe, FLEABAG CHUPACABRA, that fueled my determination for victory.
  • After my triumph, some minions reconsidered challenging me and instead provided a clue leading to the Super Beast's hideout
  • Utilizing the under handed tactic of the super special purple nurple move, the Cyber Golem was no sport for THE THUNDERCAT!
  • In a post-credit twist, I returned to the hospital with churros for the little girl, only to find a note on her pillow taunting me, "You thought you've won, you Thundercat fool! But for all your brawn, your brains are no match for the FLEABAG CHUPACABRA!"
  • You pump your fist in the air and vow vengeance against your mortal foe and to bring justice down upon him.

10/10 GREAT GAME!

I played two games tonight, each offering a unique experience. In the first game, I smoothly completed four missions, only facing challenges during the last excursion. I managed to retire after selling my gear, just reaching $100.

The second game was much tougher; I almost perished in the first mission due to some lumpy pigs and ultimately died in the third excursion when an anomaly reduced me to 7 hp, followed by bandit attacks.

Despite the ups and downs, both sessions were enjoyable and the game is quick to pick up.

However, I encountered a couple of missions that required reaching target locations not listed in the rulebook, specifically the Tunnels and the Swamp. Although I completed the missions, I felt a bit disappointed as I was deeply engaged in the game at that moment.

Additionally, I acquired a laser sight, but there were no rules on its usage or value that I could find.

I'm not entirely sure if Ashcan edition is akin to a beta? If so, then discovering those setbacks is my playtest notes.

I will say finding the laser sight was an awesome surprise and I'd love to see more items included throughout the tables. Perhaps you might find a wandering trader dumb or crazy enough to be out there willing to sell you items you can't find on the black market. "What you need stalker?"

Overall the game was/is really fun and I can't wait to try any updates in the future. 9/10

Side notes:

  • Really like the formatting in this book.
  • Never had a reason to forfeit a job.
  • It would be nice to have a dedicated area for your hp.

This game is a blast! The suspense is palpable, and I genuinely felt like a massive worm was on my tail with every move I made. The map design by Ways Unseen is fantastic too. It would be awesome to introduce new objectives, maybe drawing from the storylines of Tremors 2-4. A wild west theme, similar to Tremors 4, could add an exciting twist and ramp up the challenge even further. 10/10
