Retrograde Minis is a free website where you can create custom mech tokens, both for players and NPCs. You’re allowed to use them to create paid content.

Please include the following:

  • Discord username - this makes it easier to actually find each other
  • Skills - share this so you can round out your team’s needs
  • Goals - why do you want to participate?
  • Availabilities/Time Zone - important for coordinating with each other

Q: How long should the module be?

A: It should be a one-shot, and fit into a single session. I know different tables have different average session lengths, though! So It’ll be up to the team to decide what is reasonable. I would recommend aiming for 3-4 hour content, but you can make it shorter or longer.

Q: Who am I designing this for?

A: This can be for a group of friends trying out Lancer for the first time, for an established group filling in a session while the table is down a player, for a random pickup game on Pilot NET, as a campaign starter, for a convention game, or anything else you can think of, as long as it fits within the time block for a single session.

Q: What should and shouldn’t be in the module?

A: It’s up to your team! As long as it can reasonably be played in a single session, you can put whatever you want. That said, if you’re not sure about what you’re doing, I recommend having one combat and some narrative before and after the combat.

I would not recommend adding something like a brand new frame just for this jam, but if you already have something laying around and if you wanna give some story that’s related to your content, this could be a good way to do it!

Q: Why is it starting in December?

A: I wanted to give plenty of time for people to prepare and spread the word. Also, it’s during holiday season and probably more people are free during this time.

Q: When will the theme be revealed?

Theme candidates will get posted on poll shortly before the start, and based on the poll results, the theme will be revealed when the jam starts.

Hi, I'm new to game dev and game jam, and would like to learn Godot. I've got some experience in programming. Do you still have any spots open for this game jam?
