Hey, game was pretty fun! Nice addition with the leaderboard.

I do have one question, was the cover art of the dog on the city background made with AI? To me it looks that way because all the pixels are messed up and the edges are super weird and the bat's faces in the top don't really look right. I could be wrong, it just looks a lot like AI pixel art to me. Doesn't look like normal compression or artifacting.

Great job! First things first, the art and music, literally perfect. Love the art style and honestly the music kept me playing for much longer than I would have otherwise! Bravo!

A few small notes for next time though:

The speed of the enemies is very slow, it makes the game extremely easy. I racked up 30k points from killing enemies and got bored so I stopped killing them and just ran around the map, seeing how many I could get to spawn. I did that for about 2 or 3 minutes before I jumped in a huge pile of enemies to end the game.

Also, when it comes to reloading I was really confused at first. After I pressed 'R' I had no way of knowing if I was reloading or not. A simple sound or animation or progress bar above the player's head would be super useful. I also noticed that you can't reload unless your gun is 100% empty. Not sure if this was a bug or a feature, I just found it a little odd.

I think all the enemies take too many bullets to kill. The slime should take 1, the bat 2, and the spider 3. Right now, they're all just a little too beefy. I would make their health is much lower but you spawn a lot more. They all also kind of feel the same, just slowly moving at you. You should make it so the bat moves super fast and does a little damage, the spider moves slow and does a ton of damage and the slime is somewhere in the middle of both. Just to add some variety.

All in all, I think the game is awesome! Again, knocked it out of the park with music and art, fantastic job on both fronts there. I hope you had fun on your first game jam! :)

Very fun! Only downside to me is there is no way to lose (from what I can tell) and nothing to spend all my money on. I wish that after like 10 customers the day would end and you could unlock new recipes, add more ovens or cooling racks, expand your case, stuff like that! I also kind of wish that if you take too long serving a customer you get some money taken away or you lose or something.

I played for a good few minutes, served 30 customers, and it certainly was a whole lot of fun! I wish there was more of a way to predict what items I should be baking as well, right now it seems customers have a completely equal chance to ask for any item. I would like to be able to have some strategy while I'm playing and a bit more multitasking.

Overall, solid concept! I like it a lot :)

A leaderboard would be sick! If not a leaderboard then definitely a high score so you have something to beat every time

Hey this is awesome! A lot of fun! I really like the visual style and the music is great.

A few things I'd might tweak is that the screen shake makes the game almost unplayable if you shoot more that twice in a row, forcing you to wait a second until the shaking stops so you can see what is going on. It seems that it grows stronger with each consecutive shot so maybe turn down the maximum shake amount.

Another thing I might look into is that it's kind of hard to tell when you get hit, the number in the top left changes but nothing else as far as I can tell. Maybe add like an oof sound effect or something when you get hit.

Also maybe increase the jump height, it will make the movement feel a lot more fluid and bouncy.

I would also add a maximum cap to the enemies because after about a minute, the game gets really laggy.

Last thing, make it so the health counter is current health then max health, the way you have it now is backwards and I didn't even realize it was the health counter until I finished playing.

Again, great start! I love the art and all the issues are pretty minor! Best of luck in the jam :)

Thank you! If you ever want something specific lmk and I might add it to the next pack!
