That's a nice concept, nothing fancy but the game is already attractive. Some lore and ambience would make it even more immersive and fun if you intend to add them.
One thing is, some people I won't name see a recipe, go back to lab and forget the recipe, so the ability to keep track of one or two of them at a time might be a good addition
Oooh, you give some interesting points here. I like the idea of adding obstacles, and the part about delaying makes me think of a stamina bar instead to leave more freedom to the player.
