CRITTERS!!!!

Big respect for making that kind of tough decision. And best of luck moving forward!

Happy (belated) birthday!

Definitely going to be checking this update out!

Glad to hear you liked it c:
Thank you very much!

Glad you liked it! Also I agree the sprite work is great, faxdoc and happysquared did an amazing job on it!

Thank you very much!

Big fan of Tetris, this scratched the same itch in my brain as Tetris does. Amazingly well done... good job!

In the brainstorming stage of the project, the main mechanic was a big source of insecurity as we asked ourselves "will this even work?" Thankfully, it did! Hahah.

It actually means a lot that you found the story relatable... Glad it could be meaningful to someone c:

Thank you very much for the comment, and glad you liked it!

Made with lots of love! We worked really hard on this, so very glad you liked it c:

Thanks for the comment :D

A lot of trial and error with the programming, and a lot of math hahah! I'll probably be writing up a devlog on how it's done, but the source is all public on github (linked in the game page)

Very glad you liked it! Thank you very much for the comment c:

Thank you very much!

Glad you liked it!

We had a mix of more gameplay focused and more narrative focused folks on our team, so I'd like to think that lead to the balance we found here.

Very happy you found it to be a good use of the theme,  I too thought the idea our designer came up was a brilliant use of it :D

Thanks for the comment c:

Yes!! I might be able to actually stream myself reviewing games now :D

:0 !

So glad you liked it!

Choosing the family name (Lam's) was important for getting the difficulty curve right, starting off with a complex letter wouldn't have been good at all hahah.

That's a pretty good score you got! Well done!

Thank you very much for the feedback and praise, turly appreciate it c:

Glad you liked it! Meditative is a great word to describe it :o

To add this, almost all the programming was done during the 19th, 20th and 21st hahah (you can see the project commit history here), if I had started earlier we probably wouldn't have had some of the issues we ended up having, but that's how game jams go!

So glad you liked it!
I'm curious about the bug :o When you say first level, do you mean the first level of the tutorial, or the level where you have to make the letter L ?
Thanks for the feedback :D

(on a more serious note, found the game very cool, good job!! didn't comment more because we played it together with the team c:)

BIG TANK!

Love the art and music! Very solid arcade game with a fun play on words for the title and theme connection.

At one point I thought this might be a rhythm game, and feel it could be interesting if it were turned into one 👀.

Overall great job!

Thanks! Glad you liked it!

Loved the main mechanic, that and one of the parts of the ending (won't spoil) reminded me of portal 2.

It was fun, so I wish it were longer! Well done overall c:

Very curious how you programmed this!

Cool project!

I find it really impressive that you did the whole thing in one object! :0

I am not too sure what it has to do with the theme "Neon" however, but still well done c:

Thanks!!

:D Great to hear!

Thanks! Glad you liked it!

I was so excited when the designer (happysquared) came to me with the idea for the game because of how well it integrated the theme.

Thank you very much!

Ah, the reset button. Quite a few people have fallen prey to it so far sadly. Your idea is a good one, maybe some sort of thing where it has a progress bar that lights up more and more as you hold down, until it finally resets.

Glad you liked the game :D

Thanks!! c:

Wow! That's some high praise! Thanks!! Very glad you enjoyed the story and the uniqueness of our gameplay c:

Could you explain a bit more in detail what trouble you had with the stretch tool? Totally agree on the blowtorch on/off, will be a consideration for the future. As for zoom, I guess most people who participated in the jam can agree that window/screen/view/camera sizes can be complicated in gms, the best we could do in the time we had was allow you to resize the window and full-screen it. A UI scale feature will definitely be a consideration for a future version though. For the gas minigame, you had to keep the red lines inside the blue zones, maybe old Yeye could have explained that better though hahah.

Thank you for very much the feedback, we plan on hopefully turning it into a free browser game if possible, so keep an eye out for that :D

Thank you for the kind words, very glad you liked it. (And glad you found the ending to be wholesome too c:)

Thank you very much! :D

(1 edit)

Glad you liked the visuals, I too feel the artists on our team did an amazing job c:

The shortcuts for the tools were the numbers drawn on the buttons (so 1, 2 and 3 respectively), but it might not have been super clear. As for performance, we had some performance issues in early development that I thought we had squashed, but it seems I was wrong :0. If you don't mind me asking what specs your laptop has? So that we could maybe pinpoint where the issue is.

Thanks a lot for the feedback!

It must be an integral part of game jams! Hahahah

Thank you for the kind words! Very glad you liked it!
The bending mechanic took a lot of time to get right haha (probably the feature which took the most time overall). Since you mentioned being interested in seeing it, the code is public on github and the glass behavior is mostly contained in this object. Do be warned though, the code started out nice but became a mess as the deadline got nearer and time more scarce.
For the pacing we tried to make so if you want, you could skip any parts. Skipping the star animation the same way dialogue could have been skipped would have made perfect sense though, so if you felt it was dragged out hahah. Glad you at leasft felt it fit the mood of the game though!
Thanks for the feedback!

Played it when it came out. Big fan!!
