It wouldn't exactly prevent the progress loss, but you could start a new game and put in the character stats and money.

I'm pretty sure there is a way to use the old saves but I'm not sure myself

And would it be possible for me to move the save file into the itch app save folder?

If I update to a newer version, will I be able to keep my saves?

I generally delete the older version files, but since this game has such a large amount of content, I would rather not do that.

I just have the demo music up to max on my computer cause its just that good
