Loved the music, the concept, the different phases, the sprites. 5/5, would have my soul sucked out again.

This was a very neat looking boss, loved its attacks.

The first phase gave me a bit of trouble, died about 5 times before I had to start state saving. The second phase on the other hand went a lot smoother, got that on the first try, though just barely! Wow gets an extra point from me for making a very old dream of mine come true in that second phase.

Well that was cool! Geno had everything I'd expect him to. Except..a voice apparently! Well done!

Awesome fight! Loved Goombario's Tattle comments.

Yay, Gourmet Guy is back! The battle was lots of fun and very extravagant!

....well... -I- liked his story. If he ever writes crossovers, I'd like to see him take on Gourmet Guy with Chuck Quizmo as his sidekick!

So much work and detail went into this mod, my wife and I were very impressed for the entire ride. The maps were wonderful, the animations were plentiful, the music was very fitting, and the writing was well done! The Star Temple made me wish that vanilla Paper Mario had a more extensive Star Haven chapter.

These maps are gorgeous! I love the music too. It's unfortunate that time seemed to run out. Nicely done!

I was excited when I saw Gourmet Guy's max IQ return, he was one of my favorites in the last jam. Great questions, someone comment if you got them all on the first try! Hoping to see even higher IQ next time!

(1 edit)

I can confirm that this is the most Wario submission of the jam. I give it a W out of 10. (That map was REALLY cool though!)

This is such an amazing concept! I would love to see how far this goes, unlocking new ships and copilots. A balance of schmup, roguelike exploration, and Paper Mario battles is definitely not something I thought I wanted until now.

Coming right off from The Legendary Starship, the ship here felt a bit slow and didn't fire very fast, but that might just be because I played that one first. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see what's next!

This was really cool! I struggled a lot against the Hammer Bros, though. I think "Difficulty" would have made more sense if it was called something like "Ship Type". I didn't necessarily find "Easy" to be easier than "Standard", they just felt like two different play styles. The "Easy" ship seems like it has higher shielding but lower hull, whereas the "Standard" ship seems like it has no shields but high hull. Not sure if that makes any sense or not, but that is how I saw it. Awesome job on the jam!

This was fun! Short and sweet and  very satisfying if you're ready to put 2022 in its place!

Flour Power! There were some interesting ideas here if there was just a bit more time to finish them out.

I -love- the maps! This mod looks and feels like an actual chapter in the game. The spin hammer and triple jump really cool. I liked the market stalls a lot. The cake aesthetics were great as well!

My wife and I died laughing watching Thamz play this one. I didn't beat his high score of 10. This was a really interesting mod, the final level is priceless. The custom HUD is really good, there's lots of potential here! I appreciate all the work that went on under the hood in this one.

Can we just stop and say the name first? "Paper Mario: BACK IN BOWSER!" It's hilarious! That sense of humor carries into the mod, I love it. The sprites are absolutely beautiful and I loved the new maps. New enemies and amazing custom effects such as displayed buffs under the HUD and new map powers. I never fully played Bowser's Inside Story but this one was really good!

An alternative first half to Chapter 5 that makes one wonder how the rest of the game would go with the interesting new partner skills. Sprite recolors and Sparkies looked nice, but it would have been nice to see a map retexture. I loved the writing!

I really liked this one and would love to see a full adventure as Gourmet Guy. The battles were really cool and it would be amazing to see more, including additional battle options so that there are multiple solutions. 1000 points!
