It might come back around. Among Us is going to die out some day and Innersloth's safest bet to continue making money is to start development on Among Us 2 once Among Us 1 has run its course and to market it once Among Us 1 has been irrelevant for a while (as well as when Among Us 2 got into a good point in development where it seems fairly stable). The recipe is to wait for Among Us 1 to be irrelevant for like a year or two so people would have their hype built up again seeing an Among Us 2 trailer a year or more after Among Us stopped trending. Market it too fast and people would be like 'ugh Among Us is grasping straws at this point' like they did with FNAF but market it some time later after people mostly forget about it and they'll be like 'oh man the nostalgia, can't wait for Among Us to come back'.

Try getting an Android emulator (like Nox or MEMU, maybe not Bluestacks because I've heard that app is unsafe) and installing the mobile APK there. It will have ads and the controls may not be perfect but it's a legal way to functionally play Among Us on your PC.
I apologize if you meant Among Us 2 when it comes out, hopefully your request will be fulfilled if they un-cancel it.
To everyone saying 5 dollars is not a lot: consider how much it takes to get money on a computer if you're poor (poor = probably no bank account). Minimum purchase of most prepaids or gift cards is like 10-25 dollars, then a lot of cards have activation fees that are almost 10 dollars, so in theory Among Us costs about 30 dollars. Sure, you only need to pay 5 dollars (plus tax at that) then the rest is for whatever else you want online, but they'd still have to save up about 30 dollars to even get the game if they don't have a phone or Android emulators don't work out for them because their PC is a potato (which is more likely if they're poor).
Innersloth can you please remove imposters and just let good innocent spacemen set up a ship in peace? No need for conflict, we can just smile and have a good time while working towards our achievements, surely everyone was screened pretty well for the job and the probability of rogues is minimal, right?
Fortnite is free but still pulls in a big revenue. And there are games like Neopets that are free but have membership perks that reward paid members while not crippling free members, so we can assume they also make fair revenue too. Surely Innersloth could sell some form of DLC, membership, merchandise, or something else? I'm fine with Among Us being 5 dollars but for it being 5 dollars they should at least create a better anticheat system than free games with no microtransactions like League of Legends.
Thank you Innersloth for letting us buy Among Us outside of Steam, I don't like that 3rd party software at all, it's nice you give us the choice on whether or not we want it with Steam perks or as a standalone executable file on our computer. Lack of accessibility is one major thing that makes me not buy games but since you make it as easy as buying music off Bandcamp, I might actually fork over 5 bucks.
