I look forward to seeing where this goes. Let me know if you need somebody to bounce ideas off of during the planning stage.

Seriously, the artwork and animation are phenomenal given it’s all hand drawn by one person. There are some places where the script needs a bit of revision (grammar stuff mostly), but this demo has incredible style. Looking forward to future updates!

Many thanks! The colors are just the standard Pico-8 palette. As for publishing the eventual game on Itch, it'll very likely have a page. The project's still in the concepting stage, though, and I work a full-time job, so it'll be a good while yet.

That ain't bad at all for a first attempt! You've managed some fairly complex shapes here for someone who's still figuring out the program, and I like the color choices in the model itself.

I really like the stylization in the robot design here, but the thing that stands out the most to me is that lighting.

I don't know what it is - maybe the big yellow beak and gangly limbs - but something about this design reminds me favorably of Crow from Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Solid work!

Thank you very much!

I agree with Atanii here - I can easily imagine this character appearing in a science fiction RPG from the late PSX/early PS2 era.

Many thanks!

It’s always good to see some Fallout designs making an appearance!

I really like how gritty you managed to make this look with such a saturated palette.

This is fantastic! Makes me want to leave time to experiment with animation next time around.

I appreciate that you included details about your process here. It’s neat to see how the idea evolved from the start of the jam to its completion.

Thank you!

Any robot who looks this friendly must be planning something in the secrecy of its positronic brain.

I second Elysian - this reminds me of my time in PSX-era 3D platformers in a delightful way.

I remembered you saying you were going for that PICO-8 look, and this captures that perfectly. Awesome work!

Seems like an irritable fellow, judging from the facial expression. Those surface details on the armor are solid!

Got to love a robot who recognizes the importance of wearing a hat outdoors.

This really has that space-age robotics feel - reminds me of early Asimov. I like how scuffed up the surface of the armor is; it makes it feel like it's been running for a while.

This is spectacular! The lighting in particular really sells the effect of the space.

Many thanks!
