Mostly,  yes, due to lack of interest. However, I'm working on a new game. A roguelike powered by ChatGPT...

Looking good!

That would require me having a Mac to test/build, etc, so I don't see it happening anytime soon, but who knows what the future holds. Thanks for checking out the game.

Good luck. Let me know how it goes. Did you ever find the crash report file? in C:/user/YOURUSERNAME/appdata/local/lretg  ? That might give us some clues too.

Looks like it might be your video card not being able to handle it. Sorry. :( Not sure of anything else to try. Do you have another computer?

Is AMD Radeon HD 6700 series good for gaming?

The Radeon HD 6700 is an AMD video card categorized as High Performance. It is 7 generations old. The Radeon HD 6700 will run 71% of the top 8,000 PC games. It will also run 48% of these games at the recommended or best experience levels.

Okay, check on the graphics card if you can. You're the first I've seen this problem, but I think it might be your computer not having enough GPU ram? If we don't get it worked out, you can ask for a refund, I'm sure. Check here, though, and let me know. I'd like to figure this one out. Thanks!

What version of windows are you on?

You have to change /username/ with your system username.

That should be enough. Can you check to see if there's a log file or a crash report in c:/users/username/appdata/local/lretg44bff ?

Alternatively, try deleting and downloading again.

Do you have a dedicated video card? That might be the problem to if you have integrated graphics.

Sorry for the troubles. We'll try to figure it out.

Hrm. Thanks for letting me know. What are the stats on your computer? I need to list a minimum requirements on the page.

That's more than fair. Thanks for letting me know about these issues. I'm going to try to get an updated/fixed version out this weekend.

Long live LitRPG! ;)

Great stuff! I had a problem back in December and had some files failing to load when I opened the game in Unreal editor. I thought I had fixed them (saving a couple weeks of work on the dungeons), but it sounds like the fix didn't work as well as I thought. I'm likely going to have to go back to an earlier version and spend some time rebuilding the dungeons and other stuff. Sorry you had so many problems, but all this stuff is super helpful.

If you go into c:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Local/LITRPG44 and delete the "save" folder it should start fresh. I think there might be a bug in the "World items" that I tried to fix, though. You might wait for the next version - another week or so?  Try the save thing, though. I think the litrpg books not showing up and other minor bugs crept in with a corrupted game file I tried to save. Like I said, I think I'm going to go back to my last backup and redo what I lost.

Sounds like you made it all the way to the end, but without being able to read the books, it was probably pretty boring. I'll post a Dev Update once I get this stuff fixed - hopefully!

Glad you enjoyed what I have so far!

More to come...

Great stuff! Thanks.

1) I'll look into this.

2) I think I dropped just the model and not an actual object. I'll check it out.

3) You should be able to loot it. Actually, it's a storage chest so you should be able to put stuff in and take it out.

4) I think I might have the bars popping too soon or in too far of range. I'll check it out.

5) Hehe. You made it far through the newbie dungeon! I think there might be a problem (missing gate) on the third dungeon (after toon land). I thought the 8bit stuff would mix it up a bit.  I might need to adjust the stat bars too.

6) Dice.  Items with slots will have a circle on their icon - up to three circles. You drag and drop the dice to the item - but only if both of them are on the right side (not equipped). I might need to make this easier. Just picking up the books (E when you're near them) should put them in your inventory and log them in the BOOKS tab.

Again, this is all super helpful.

What did you think of the  story? Did you notice some of the books have text/clues in them? Any thoughts on overall scaling? Did you find it too difficult or easy?

Thanks again!

1) All spawn points are gone until I fix them ... soon hopefully.

2) Hrm. I think it might be the angle. Try looking down or up. Something you have to be in just the right place. I'll keep trying to improve this.

3) Good to know. I will check.

4) Yeah, I'm still torn on this one. I want to make sure you can loot the bodies but NOT leave a hundred of them lying around which would slow the game down. I guess it's kinda like in a TTRPG where you don't get the xp until the battle is over? I'll keep thinking on this one.

5)Hotslots - in your inventory screen, you can drag potions or edibles to the right into a slow that will then appear on the hot keys .

We've had some success on some newer laptops. In the settings did you lower everything to the minimum? It doesn't look great, but it should run.   Then again, on a low spec laptop it might not. Feel free to ask for a refund if it doesn't work. Hope this helps!

Great stuff! Thanks. I'm just about to upload a new version with  a whole bunch of improvements. :)

Now I'm nervous! Haha. I might fire it up tonight and double-check for ya. More later. :)

Should be fixed in the latest version. If not, let me know. Still squashing bugs and trying to make it better!

Sweet! Lemme know if you have any other problems. I'm still squashing bugs and taking ideas for ways to make it better.

Hrm. It's working here on Windows 10 for me. Should downgrade and run. Is it loading up at all? Any error messages? Anything in the logs?

I should be able to export it as 64 too, but doing it in 32 it should run on more systems.

Here's a FREE book (not about this game) that shows what type of books I write ...

Any bug reports or ideas on the game are very much appreciated. I'm itching to get back to it! :)

Yeah, I'm here. Sorry! I spent about 1,000 hours on this so far, and I had to get back to publishing books to make some money. I'm hoping to get back to finish this soon. What can I help you with in the meantime?

Not at this time, but if there's a big demand for it, I may look into it. I know Unreal Engine has special hoops you need to jump through to make something moddable. Thanks for the input.

Hrm. I wonder if the auto-spawner is not turning off after 12 items like it should. That could definitely slow it down. I'll try to take a look tonight or tomorrow and get a new update up. Thanks for the input!

Thanks. Your stats are better than mine, so it shouldn't be choppy.

Build 16 is the latest. If you don't download with the Itch.io app (which gives auto updates like Steam), you need to redownload the latest version. Sorry for the hassles. I appreciate you taking the time to let me know about the problems you're having. Hopefully, we can get them fixed.

Noted. Thanks.

What version are you on? PC stats? Graphics settings? Thanks!

Ever wonder what it would be like to be trapped in an RPG? Now you can find out!

This LitRPG-themed ARPG has you playing  a mild-mannered gamer who finds himself trapped in a game! Can you survive and find your way out?

On your meta adventure, you can collect dice to modify your equipment, craft weapons, mix potions, find LitRPG books, and a whole lot more.

You ARE the chosen one, and you WILL escape this game.

The dragon can't beat you forever.  Right?

======================

Greetings and salutations. Long story short, I'm an indie author who writes about people being trapped in video games. This summer, I decided to build a game where you play just such a person. You can collect real life LITRPG books in the game. It's just the cover and blurb, but you can hunt them down in the real world if they look interesting. There's also crafting, combat, spells, and a whole lot more. I had a ton of fun building this over the summer. It gave me a new appreciation for writing fiction! In books you just have to describe the mountain. In games, you have to build it!

Hope you get a chance to check out my love letter to the RPG genre...

You can play as a male or female gamer.  :)

The map problem on the main overland is fixed.

It's weird. It wasn't showing when playing in the UE4 editor, but I think I might've worked it out. I'm gonna fix a few other things before building and pushing out, though.

  • Map Texture Size is wrong on Overland map, messing up the markers and stuff. Sorry! Fixing now!

Let's squash 'em all, guys. Think of the xp we'll get! ;)

Seriously, though, if you find something wrong, post it here or elsewhere, and I'll work to get it fixed.

Thanks.
