it has 2 entirely new quests marine and pekora
that each have their own unique gameplay and stages to play through
plus an extra mode to play as noel only through flare quest.
there's a button to switch characters instantly now in flare quest instead of having to pause to switch every time now.
you don't lose your charge when getting hit anymore.
various stage differences to existing stages such as the mini boss in falls for flare quest is completely different now among other things.
balance changes for weapons and bosses etc. overall they're a lot of changes and new content that makes it worth buying.

Well there's a lot to know just from the Steam trailer.
- There will be 2 new playable characters Marine and Pekora
- There will be multiple new boss fights.
- It looks like there will be 2 new stages but I could be wrong that's just a guess.
- And I'm assuming there will be at least 1 more new end but that is also just a guess, it makes sense though that there would be.
Outside of the trailer I don't know much about 1.3 mostly just stuff that is only relevant to speedrunning. But there are a few things worth noting.
- You wont have to pause to switch characters anymore.
- Marine and Pekora will be separate modes so you will not be able to switch between 4 different characters. It will only be Flare and Noel the same as before.
- Cursed mode is gone, it technically counts as its own character so there would've been 5 characters but its been removed from the game now I guess. Not very surprising because it was something you only got from getting all of the achievements in the game and I think most people didn't know about it anyway.
That's everything I know about 1.3 aside from the speedrunning stuff. There could very well be a lot more that I don't know about, I'm sure the dev wants to keep at least some of it a surprise so we'll just have to wait and see.
IMPORTANT please read this post if you want to know what's happening with the game currently.
For anyone wondering the Steam version is basically going to be a completely different game so that's more than enough reason to buy it.
And because the game is going to be sold on Steam now the free versions (previous versions of the game before Steam) can no longer be distributed officially by the developer.
1.1 and 1.2 are the current version of the game, 1.3 is going to be the Steam version. 1.2 is more or less the same as 1.1 but it has updated sound with a bunch of quality of life changes that 1.1 didn't have along with some bonus content.
Until recently 1.2 was never publicly available outside of the games discord but it is currently the download available on the page right now. It was 1.1 before.
In a few days the game wont be officially available for free anymore but you will be able to get all of the free versions still from speedrun.com
But please consider buying the Steam version it will have a lot more content that is not available on the free versions and it helps support the developer.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
I apologize if this scares you but here is a screenshot of what it looks like now if you would like to see it https://imgur.com/IIUFYhw
For anyone wondering there is a small but dedicated Speedrun community for this game. The game is on https://www.speedrun.com/flare_nuinui_quest and we have a discord https://discord.com/invite/GqbAV9AmUW here's what a Speedrun looks like

So it is now known that the amount of speed you get from the big slide at the end of stage 1 on the slope is dependent on monitor framerate. I just did a test on 60hz vs 144hz monitor and on 60hz you literally can't get speed from the slope at all while on 144hz you can get insane speed from it to fly/jump across to the end. Not sure if you can do anything to fix this but its a huge problem because some people can't even Speedrun it if they wanted to now. So if it cant be fixed then separate categories will have to be made for different monitor framerates.
I think you should keep it because it would make things more interesting for Speedrunners. I don't think it would happen enough to normal players to really be an annoyance and cause any harm. But also if you remove it I'll just keep playing on the vanilla version for the sake of faster times in the future. You could remove it and have the removed and non removed versions both available but honestly I don't think its that big of a deal for the general public that will play this game. And for Speedrunners it seems to be the next big key to getting crazy times so I ask that you keep it please.
It just happened to me again and I decided to clip it. Still no idea what causes it but it happens once in a while. and it does appear to be pixel perfect on the edge.

I know what you're talking about and its only happened to me like 10 times ever. I think its a pixel perfect super jump off the first book but you can also do the same to anything else although I haven't done it in any actual runs and its not consistent. But yeah I think the super jump with the book at the beginning is going to be the only way to get sub 15 now.
