Hey there! I love this game to death and shared it with my viewers on a live stream today. (The link should take you directly to the correct timestamp, if not, the game starts at 1:29:28)

The king returns 🙏

Just the right amount of chilling. This was great!

Glad to hear the project is still being worked on! Cant wait to see all the improvements! :D

Just as the topic title says, I learned how to use Bitsy today specifically for this jam! I made a small side project related to a larger project I have in the works, but you don't need to play that in order to enjoy this one. Anyway, here's my game Krista's Birthday:

Krista's Birthday

To be honest, there were some things with this game that I would like to improve upon in the future once I have a better understanding of Bitsy, but I'll save all that for another day. But anyway, Bitsy is pretty easy to understand and a great tool for beginners, in my opinion. I would love to work with it more and I may make more Bitsy games in the future!

Hi! This is a great Twine game, but I ran into a bug. I tried to continue, but the thing on the bottom of the screenshot popped up.

i loved this so much

This was really sweet omgggg

I shouldnt have played this at night 🙃

I really enjoyed it though!

Baba is Friend!!

This was so sweet i love this game so much!!

Me, getting to the end of the demo: Haha I'm in danger :)

but yeah this was really great! can't wait to see more!!

No worries! I sent you a friend request, so just accept it and I'll send over the code

Okay! Oh, I'm also gonna need the four digits after your username too

I'm really glad you liked the game! And yes, you did get the best ending with Alex. Congrats! :D And yeah, I'm totally cool with sharing the code with you for the bonus stuff

Man, what a classic. Glad to see this get an update!

i would say about 6-8 hours worth of gameplay

Not currently, no. My apologies. I haven't gone back to game development in a long time since I've been focusing more on school and YouTube.

Yup been put on hold because of school and been working on stuff for youtube

Yup

Sorry for the late response but thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it! I also just left a comment on the video

Used RPG Maker VX Ace

Currently suspended because school. Hoping to pick it back up in the summer

Thanks for the critique! I'm hoping to get the unfinished mechanics completed soon.

Thank you so much!

Honestly, the jam just started. Game creation is from the beginning of June until the end of July. It's just that the submission period is also overlapping that timeframe

Thank you so much! To be honest, I wasn't sure how well received this game would be since it was the first time I completed making a game with Ren'Py, but I'm really glad you liked it! :D

I'm going to do something simple for my submission since this will be the first time I'll be making a VN ^_^

A young witch finds an abandoned black kitten on the side of a road and want to take it in as her own. Her mom says she’s too inexperienced to have her own familiar, but she works out a deal with her to keep the kitten: if she does well on her next test at school, memorizes one spell, and takes good care of the kitten for one week, then she can keep it and make it her familiar once she’s a more experienced witch.

Its probably also important to mention it's an anthropomorphic kitten and it can also speak. :P

I’ve written the script for the opening cutscene today. Tomorrow, I’m going to write the ending cutscenes and probably other stuff if I have the time.

Thanks man! :D

1. Hi there! What's your name? Want to introduce yourself?

My name's Kirsten, but I go by PK or PKLucky most places online. I'd prefer to be called PK online, though. It makes me feel weird being called by my real name by people I just met online OuO);;;

2. Did you participate in the last jam we held? If so, what do you plan on doing better this time? If not, what's your reason for joining?

This is the first time I've participated! I feel that game jams really get my creative juices flowing, so I like joining one whenever I can!

3. What games are your favorites? Did any of them inspire you, or made you want to make your own?

Puzzle games and RPGs of any kind are my faves. RPG Maker games also appeal to me. Indie games like OFF, Ib, and Yume Nikki made me realize that ANYONE can make a video game, and they inspired me to create games of my own!

4. Do you have experience with game development? What did you do/with what engine?

I've made games with RPG Maker VX Ace and RPG Maker 2003. My first game was Legend of Percivus, made with VX Ace. I also created two games for the Indie Game Maker Contest, one for 2015 and one for 2017. Slime Heart, my entry for IGMC 2015, was made with VX Ace, and I'm currently working on an update for it. I'd Cross the World for You was my entry for IGMC 2017 and was created with RPG Maker 2003.

5. Tell us about something you're passionate about!

I'm really passionate about creating things in general! Whether it be YouTube videos, art, video games... I just love creating things, and seeing people enjoy the things I create makes me really happy!

6. What are your goals for this game jam?

I'd like to learn more about RPG Maker 2000 and how far I can push its limitations. I realize that it's similar to RPG Maker 2003, however I feel that I didn't get a chance to fully realize what exactly the engine was capable of when I was working on I'd Cross the World for You.

I'd also like to create a procedure for myself when creating events in RPG Maker. I tend to create events in RPG Maker without much thought or planning put into them, so I'm hoping to actually have some planning into how I actually structure my games in the future.

7. Any advice to new jammers (if you're a veteran)?

As a veteran general game jam participant, the biggest mistake I see rookies make is trying to create too big of a game within the given time limit. Start small! It's better to have a short, polished game than a large game with bugs and glitches everywhere.

8. If you're a returning jammer, what can the admins do to improve your jam experience?

Just keep doing what you can to keep this event enjoyable for everyone!

I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

The way RPG Maker 2003 packages the game files may have something to do with this. I'll look into it, and I'll let you know when I've found a solution.

Thank you so much!

lol you can say that again

I'm in love with the battle system and the art! I haven't finished playing the game yet, but I really enjoyed what I played so far!

ok cool, good to know im not the only one completely baffled by this

Just fixed the bug. Thanks again, man!
