the game is still played daily, but you'll find enough players to play only in certain hours. Currently you're most likely to find players around 21CEST. If you have discord, consider joining the discord server as players schedule games there / ping each others when they're looking for players

The Steam version gives you 65k coins on account creation and allows you to purchase in-app credits. It's a way to support the game, if you like it. Plus, it runs natively on linux and windows, if you prefer running a native executable rather than via web (for example, the web version may be paused by your browser if you load another tab, thus, disconnecting you).

So in terms of gameplay, zero differences. But you get a more "comfortable" environment and you can support the game if wish to, with the Steam purchase.

Thanks for the followup! Glad to hear all is ok now!

Hi dewrcjl,

thank you for the feedback - indeed you can report bugs here, by email at root@playuntrusted.com or on the discord at discord.playuntrusted.com !

Could you please retry?

It looks like there was a network issue within the datacenter the server's hosted and some users were affected depending on their ISP location though the timing of your report loosely match this. I've also fixed another potential networking problem that could have been the cause.

The issue should be fixed now, so my guess is that you were one of those affected - please let me know if the issue persists, thank you!

Glad to hear all's good now! Thank you! Enjoy :)

Hi EdibleMoon!

It's a game made in Unity3D for WebGL, so it should definetly load.

It's a bit of a heavy download, as it's nearly 90MB, so it may take a few minutes if you're on a slow connection, sorry :<

Hello guys, apologies for the very late reply.

The game was release on Steam and the huge influx of players required my attention as the server was unable to handle such traffic.

The new patch has fixed those issue and while the server can now handle traffic, the unusual amount of outgoing emails are likely getting stuck in spam. Please double check your spam folder - if you still haven't received your email, please contact me at root@playuntrusted.com and I will be happy to help you.

Sorry for any inconvenience!

Thank you!

Hi Ignominy!

Could you please let me know the OPSEC link so I can investigate the bug? You can find your recently played games on your profile ( https://eu01.playuntrusted.com/profile/Ignominy/ assuming that is your nickname).

Thank you!

Hi!

Sorry for the issue! The JS problem should be fixed with a version I just uploaded and the server side issue you were referring to should be fixed as well - thank you for your patience!

Let me know if you're still having issues! :) thank you!

Hi techi man! Sorry for this extremly late reply - I didn't notice this post until today!

I'm sorry it took a while - it seems the email was stuck in the server queue for some reason. In any case, for future reference for other players, keep also in mind youc an also register via steam if you have the steam client on windows or linux (and that does not require email)

Thank you also for your rating :)

Hi Everyone!

Untrusted is an online multiplayer (10 to 16 players) hacking/social deduction game currently in development, inspired by the Werewolf/Mafia genre and similar games. It is available as beta build for GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows systems on Steam and as WebGL for browser play on itch

In Untrusted, hackers from the fictional NETSEC group are tasked in hacking a specific server on a computer network. NETSEC members must use their skills and wits to outsmart the undercover AGENTs that will try each night to perform arrests or have other players become snitches for them.

Untrusted has been mostly my lockdown(s) project (started a bit earlier to be honest, but had a boost in productivity in march, when i first released it). It's now releasing on steam this weekend as it's beyond the beta stage: the latest playtests have been all very good both on a technical standpoint and also on gameplay - which is now very balanced and fun!

We're having some weekend events, if you like social deduction games and you're intrigued, here's some more info https://www.playuntrusted.com/play-untrusted-during-the-steam-early-access-relea...

and here's our discord: http://discord.playuntrusted.com

If you like social deduction games, come play a bit with us this weekend :)

Hi!
I've just released the alpha version of Untrusted - Web of Cybercrime on itch: https://evolvedlabs.itch.io/untrusted

Untrusted is an online multiplayer (10 to 16 players) hacking/social deduction game currently in development, inspired by the Werewolf/Mafia genre and similar games.

In Untrusted, hackers from the fictional NETSEC group are tasked in hacking a specific server on a computer network. NETSEC members must use their skills and wits to outsmart the undercover AGENTs that will try each night to perform arrests or have other players become snitches for them.

The game ends as soon as the NETSEC group gains root access of the target node or when all AGENTs or NETSEC members have been eliminated from the game. If the NETSEC operation leader gives root access to an AGENT member however, it is also instant game over.

Role playing, deception and deduction are key aspects of the game, which currently features 19 playable classes with more than 50 unique skills.

Playing the tutorial (which should take 10 to 20 minutes) is recommended, especially for people new to the social deduction genre (if you played similar games, you should pick it up fairly easily)

In about 1 hour ( 19:00 UTC ) we are running a server stress test - join the discord at discord.playuntrusted.com ! Hope to see you there :)
