WWWWW GAME!!! #1 BEST GAME!!!
to provide some feedback though,
i feel that the game took way to long. i played for about 25 minutes and felt that the game was far too grindy. since the gameplay loop is basically the same everytime, being stuck so small and not being able to get larger until i get around 500 coins was a pain. the enemies were also one part that could certainly be improved upon. i feel as if enemies should be more impactful and provide more of a challenge, but in this state, they are near impossible to avoid when you're small due to the low FOV , and simply take away some coins, which was just a mild inconvenience if anything.
W SPORE RIP OFF MY FAV WWWWW W RIZZ !!!!
This was a fun game! I do think that the balance between the sword and the bow wasn't great, however, as the bow felt overpowered, but the sword made me feel pretty defenseless. I think maybe altering how the arrow traveled or something like that could've been a good fix. The art is amazing , and the composer did a fantastic job with the music! Great work (:
Really neat piece of work! (You're a better artist than me lol)
The instructions to download your work as a GIF is included within the PLEASEREADME.TXT included in the downloadable version of Squerbly. If you're in the browser version, sadly there is no way to save it as a gif :(
Here is the instructions in the case you don't want to go search around for it:
STEP 1. CREATE A MASTERPIECE!
Got this step already down? Thought so. Moving on...
- = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = -
STEP 2. SAVE DRAWING!
To do this you can either hit the floppy disk icon on the toolbar, or (if you have no clue what a floppy disk is) press ENTER on your keyboard!
Doing so should make a popup appear: a folder with 3 images of your drawing.
These three images are crucial to making your beautiful GIF...
Oh, and now you're halfway done!!
- = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = -
STEP 3. CONVERT IMAGES INTO GIF!
Now you need to convert the three images of your drawing into a gif.
To do this you will need to go into your browser and find a program to convert images into GIFS.
Personally, I like to use: ezgif.com/maker
From here it is quite simple. You just need to take the three images you saved of your drawing, and drop them into whatever website your using to make the gif and it should do the rest of your work for you!!
Now you just need to download your gif and you should be done!!!!!
- = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = -
STEP 4. BASK IN THE GLORY!
You have the most fabulous gif, perhaps of all time, and can now enjoy all of the attention and approval you get from your peers after showing them your gesamtkunstwerk!!!
thanks for checking out Squerbly! :3
Thank you for checking out my goofy program! And yeah, I certainly agree that an undo button would've been an important feature to add, may do that in some sort of updated version if I make one of this. Also really great artwork! Cool seeing someone able to make something actually good looking in this program (i'm not the best artist if you couldn't tell by the program's logo haha)
Really interesting game concept! I felt the platforming had a fantastic balance between challenging but not so much so that it felt annoying when I missed a jump and lost some progress. Additionally, the art and soundtrack go together very well so really good job on that!
I do have one nitpick though, and that is with the itch page saying "Holometabola is a type of metamorphosis found in certain insects..." In reality Holometabola is the superorder of insects that are holometabolous, meaning they undergo a complete metamorphosis. But that little description discrepancy really isn't much of an issue :)
Again, really awesome submission to this jam! :D
Got this while scrolling through Itch and didn't even realise this was made by in part by you EelShep! Really well put together game as per usual! :)
I will say, I did feel like the enemies were a bit lackluster, which is definitely something that could be worked on a bit with maybe some more variety and all that jazz, especially for a Metroidvania. But other than that, a solid game!
I think it was definitely a struggle to gather enough resources for me. I did have points while playing through some of the later levels where I found it a bit frustrating with the influx of enemies and the lack of acorns to place towers and defend. It still is a fun game, and I like the combination of searching for acorns and defending. Certainly a great submission to this jam :D
Woah the effects in this game are really impressive! I absolutely love the transition between levels and the marks that appear when you speed up on the screen. The blasts and the rocket fuel also look nice! I will say it was a bit difficult to control at first but that makes sense I suppose since it is space after all! The music and art meshed together very well and it is a fun game! :D
