Take Europe for example, once you click the option, all real life countries such as germany, poland and russia have been placed, with their teritories all set up nicely.

How about making the nations smarter?
For example,

A country was about to takeover another country but somehow made peace.
Now, the other country has a lot troops at its border.
The country declares war again and lost the war.
