Epic and cute! I was going for a kind of corny 80's sci-fi fantasy movie aesthetic, but epic and cute definitely describes it well. Thank you for playing. I'm glad you both enjoyed it.

Pixel art is a lot of fun. It's a really fiddly medium, but it tests and develops your basic composition skills in a very forgiving way. Some of my enemy sprites were kind of rushed, but I justified it to myself by thinking that the vagueness added a little to a kind of horror feel. I'm not really sure I succeeded there.

I appreciate your offer to contribute to an update. I plan to start working on an update after the results of the jam. I want to keep this game purely solo developed, but maybe we can work together on another project in the future. Maybe I can be a contributor to a project of yours or CommodoreSixtyFour's even.

Let me know how it goes! My wife played it and enjoyed it and she isn't really a mathy type. I have played through it at least a dozen times and I really regret not taking the time to give it a proper ending. It just ends with "The End."

Thank you. It definitely needs more time. I plan to start working on a post jam version after ranking is over.

It's funny because I settled early on the idea of encouraging players to use the minimum amount of damage to kill something. But then I was at a loss for what the combat would actually be like, so I googled "what makes JRPG battles fun?" and I got this guy explaining how he likes that they're like puzzles, so I then went in that direction. I spent a few hours trying to make each battle something like its own puzzle. Also, your stream was great. It is amazing to watch someone play your game because you realize things about your design by seeing how others interact with it. Thank you a bunch.
