lmao if u can believe it, after I wrote the comment and went to play it again and got the ending (where we steal the decoy of Death's journal T-T) Thank you for the game though! Your writing and world building is immaculate!! And the art is amazing <3

Honestly, there are many things to describe how I felt during this game. It's gut-wrenching (in a good way, if you can believe), beautifully written and well represented, and it's hopeful. Makes you long for a happy ending, and delivers it. A great play in all <3
Hope to see more games from u in the future!!
WOAH EASTER EGGS IN MUSHROOM OASIS!? (MINI SPOILERS UP AHEAD!!)
You have no idea how excited I was to play Day 3 of Mushroom Oasis! Background and food art are incredible, especially the new sprites for Mychael.
And Vida, our neighbour back from college for their break.
I thought they looked familiar but I couldn't pinpoint exactly where I'd seen them from, until they said a certain line.
"I'm sure it'll lift your spirits." ALARM BELLS GUYS.
If you guys haven't played this game (you should), it's called Lift Your Spirits, where you play as a college student up late to finish an assignment. You get stuck in a broken elevator and saved by a ghost who can't remember their own name but says you can call them Alma. I just checked who the creators were and it is Deersphere studios.
It's sad to know Vida does eventually die by being crushed under a vending machine, no idea if it's foreshadowing that they will die in this game or at a later date, but it's a really good Easter Egg to add! Well done Deersphere studios on Day 3 and we can't wait for the full release of Mushroom Oasis :)
Could be possible. In the headless horseman tales (regarding Ichabod and Brom), the story goes on to say that after Ichabod (which is what Sol called Crowe in Day 2) confessed his love for this girl who’s family owned a wealthy farm (parallel to MC) at a party, he was rejected, and on his way home was killed by the headless horseman. I think this means Crowe will confess to us during the Halloween party that the school is hosting, and if we reject him, Sol ends up murdering him
JUST TO FURTHER ADD TO THIS, there are 3 minor details that also feed into the headless horseman tale/ theory that Sol and Hyugo knew the MC from before we met them in game.
1. In the album, above Sol's pictures is an annotation that says 'Remember Me'. There are also doodles and writings that may be important but I can't place them or make them make sense.
2. In some headless horsemen tales, it is said that his head is replaced with a pumpkin and that he carries his actual head in his hands. In Sol's album, there is a tiny pumpkin at the top.
3. EVEN MORE DAMNING EVIDENCE, on Night 2 when Sol breaks into our house (he better pay me back for that window lock) his nickname for us is LITERALLY PUMPKIN. Your honour the evidence is on the table and we are ready to convict
edit: is it worth mentioning that the literal creator of the game has said, “Hello Soulmates,” when addressing us??
AHHH I love ur profile pic!! I'm the same, I never even considered looking into Crowe or that the creator would make this a parallel situation.. I saw in another post that maybe the game's creator is including supernatural elements in the game, where in our past lives we were the ppl in the headless horseman tale (which would explain the things that Hyugo and Sol said) but I think this game is only intended to be a yandere game of non-fiction? Not rlly sure tbh. I'm hoping the Day 3 update will clears things or we'll all become crazy theorists lmao
I mean the only 'important' event we know about in the future is the Hallowe'en party hosted by the school, and Hyugo's supposedly gonna be missing for the next few days. Side note, bcuz Hyugo's missing, Sol's gonna be hanging out with us, which might mean hanging out with Crowe and the restof the group too? That'd be funny to play through lol. But I hope Hyugo lives through this bcuz he has so much potential in this story and is generally so chill
Playing through this for the 100th time, there are always these few lines that get me and make me think 'huh?'. When we're in the library with Sol, we talk about Edgar Allen's Poem 'Annabel Lee', (which is a poem abt loving someone even after they've died) and when we asked him why he likes it, we assume it's bcuz it's abt love, but actually it's bcuz of death??? Futhermore, he looks angry when explaining that ppl don't want them together and says "I won't let it happen to me, not again". HELLO? WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?? Then if we eat lunch with Hyugo and Sol on Day 2, Hyugo says "You remind me of her (pronoun depending on what u pick)..." SIR WHO ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??
It's clear to me that it's someone from the past who we haven't met yet. Hyugo blushes when talking about them, and Sol clearly loved them. So, what happened? Did Sol scare her off? Kill her? Did she get caught up in Hyugo's mafia scheme?
Also, just to point out, in Annabel Lee, the poet says 'her highborn kinsman came and bore her away from me', is this a parallel to Sol and Crowe? Maybe Sol thinks Crow can take us away from him bcuz atm the MC does have a crush on him.
But seriously, who is this mysterious person and why are we being associated with them?
THIS IS JUST A THEORY, DON'T BE MAD. Also, spoilers for Day 2 ahead.
Guys, I know. It's breaking me heart just thinking about this, but I have a good theory.
I think the most obvious reason is because Hyugo is literally being found out that he's a traitor in the mafia?? (Get this end by choosing Hyugo's options). They're figuring him out, he's cutting off contact with Sol and disappearing for a few days, and also put an end to some mysterious deal he had going on with him.
If you don't go on Hyugo's route but choose Sol's, Hyugo ends up bring you home and when he leaves you at the door, he says "Take care of Sol for me, okay?" LIKE THAT'S NOT SOMETHING YOU SAY UNLESS YOU'RE DYING RIGHT??
Additionally, it would also make good character development for Sol and Geo (bcuz why else do creators kill off their characters if not for character development or boredom?). Geo, who seemingly hates his brother, will end up missing him when he dies. Geo is scary, good with weapons and is rich, need I say more? He'll either become kinder (as his brother was, keeping him alive through his actions) or he'll spiral and go out of control. And as losing your best friend is hard, Sol will either kill a bunch of people or seek our comfort (likely both tbh.)
