We actually choreographed this game out! We have two chess buffs on the dev team, so it’d be sacrilege not to have an accurate match in the vn — so it’s very much possible :) keep looking!
The cast don't have super specific ages, but you have it right! Theo is a bit older than the rest, and Hunter is the youngest/still in college. Everyone else is in-between!
We would say it's closer to a Kinetic VN (where each route has a story that won't change significantly) than a traditional VN where there are bad endings and alternate routes. The biggest choice for the player will be the character they'd like to get closer to and the routes themselves will influence how the other characters' stories go (e.g. getting closer to character A might mean character B does something different in the background of A's route).
That was the idea behind a January release ;) super glad you liked what you saw so far! An android version of the game is definitely on our to-do list and we plan to make it happen at some point -- we'll update this page with future plans soon!!
